Stokes was a two-way force to close out Phoenix, logging big minutes in a win. Even against an opposition with a big front line, she used her long arms to play bigger than her height. Blocked multiple shots, deflected passes and recorded steals. Had one sequence where she switched onto a shifty guard, blocked the pull up attempt, then was off to the races for bucket. The whole game was an impressive display of Stokes’ physical gifts and gritty mindset.
The Locust Grove Lady Pirate had her moments on offense as well. Pick and popped to drill a three. Posted up and finish through contact. And played unselfish moving the ball.
With added strength and confidence, she’s steadily improved over the last six months. And could be a player who is undervalued. As she has really come into her own as one of the best players in Oklahoma.

Stokes scored a game high 19 points and made the clutch plays to stop a late run by the Eagles. Eats up so much ground with her long legs and her added strength allows her to brush off contact on drives. Drained a couple triples to compliment her drives and free throws. Also grabbed 7 rebounds, handed out 3 assists, and steals. A great example of the do everything aspects of Stokes’ game.

Covered Stokes in depth earlier this week. One additional note, she’s added muscle to her frame. Still a long and lanky player, but clearly has worked hard to be ready for the more physical nature of big time college basketball.

Stokes is one of the top prospects in the state and has ti do a bit of everything for the Lady Pirates. There were good signs of growth from her, especially compared to an preseason scrimmage vs LCS. The junior played stronger and more deliberate with the ball. If she caught it in the paint, there was no wasted motions as she would go up quickly and strong. Made a few good passes out of the high post and from the elbow as a halfcourt offensive hub. Also helped out with breaking the press against LCS’s pressure. At times she got sped up, but generally did a good job while showing off her guard skills. It was a good battler game from Stokes, but to challenge for a title, she’ll need to be more effiecent as a scorer.

During Locust Grove’s first two scrimmages, my primary focus was on the game on the court next to LG. But every time I glanced over at the Pirates, it seemed to be Stokes making plays on both ends. Blocking and rebounding well. Has continued to improve her ball handling and shooting abilities. Playing more and more like a big guard.
Her final scrimmage was a bit more up and down, as she faced a big test vs LCS. There were some moments where smaller guards really got under her and gave her troubles. But she kept battling and ended up being productive in that match up too.

One of the headliners of the class, Stokes in an inside-outside threat. Has games where she makes it rain from three and is very comfortable putting the ball on the deck. Has super long arms, which allow her to swat shots and grab rebounds. While also mobile enough and can leverage her size advantage to make life very tough on opposing guards. Has been to the Class 4A State Tournament in back to back years, including a semifinal appearance. Now is playing against national competition on the Nike EYB 16 level with the Missouri Phenoms.

Oklahoma State and Tulsa were the first to offer the lanky wing this winter, and after this summer there should be more suitors. She’s a multifaceted threat, who fills up the stat sheet. With her combination of mobility and long arms, she blocks shots at the rim and also steps out to the perimeter to smother guards. Offensively she’s a capable shooter form distance, and also provides valuable handling and playmaking for a gigantic Locust Grove frontline. Has helped the Lady Pirates to a 16-1 record. They recently avenged their only loss on the year, beating Fort Gibson last Friday.

Tabbed Stokes as a potential star while watching her at scrimmages last month. At the time Oral Roberts was her only offer, since then Tulsa and Oklahoma State have pulled the trigger. With some of the moves she makes at her size, the offers should continue to roll in. From a steal, that saw her race away for defenders for a lefty finish. To a drive with a jab step that quickly transitioned into an up and under finish at the rim, there’s always seems to be a “wow” moment or two when watching Stokes.

Stokes impresses in every viewing, with a recent performance to kick off her high school season a strong example of that. She embodies modern positionless basketball. Need somebody to match up down low? Stokes and her long arms will battle any post. Those traits also allow her to serve as a rim protector and strong rebounder. She also is gifted on offense, sees the court well, can burry threes and put it on the deck. Currently has offers from Hawaii, Wichita State and Oral Roberts. Many more should come as she continues to establish herself as one of the best players in Oklahoma.

If Saturday was any indication, Stokes is set to be a star as a sophomore. She won defensive reps against one of Oklahoma’s best 2026 prospects. Caused havocs with more steals. And then was a silky do it all threat on offense. She posted up on the block, pushed it in transition into mid-range. Buried knock down triples. And impressively has some good vision and accuracy as a passer. Instead of asking what she can do, it’s a better question to ask if there’s anything Stokes can’t do? Oral Roberts has already offered the high upside prospect, and those offers should continue to roll in.
