Payton had a very good day for Team 4 at the PGH Michigan Freshman Showcase. She impacted games on both ends of the court. Payton dropped in a tough, contested bucket in the lane and took a DHO straight to the rim from the wing with a burst to score a layup with a soft touch off the glass. She blocked a shot on the defensive end and immediately looked to score after securing defensive rebounds. Payton pushed the ball with pace the length of the floor, made the extra pass, scored a layup with a smooth transfer during the fast break, and swiped the ball away in the backcourt for another layup off two feet. She’s going to be a playmaker to watch at Spring Lake.
