Gray de Sanders was relentless, attacking the basket and carrying a major offensive load for Winter Haven. She demonstrated excellent control of the dribble, consistently finding ways to get downhill and finish through defenders. In the transition game. She was like an avalanche- you know it’s coming, but there was no stopping her. Her combination of strength, balance, and body control allowed her to score in various situations. Gray de Sanders finished with 24 points, leading all scorers for Winter Haven and keeping her team within striking distance throughout the game. Her offensive aggression and ability to create scoring opportunities stood out on the championship stage. Her defense was equally good. She had the ability to trail the ball handler, and before making it to halfcourt, she was back on the front of the ball handler – that’s speed! Quin was special all tournament, and she did things that others could not do- stealing rebounds and scoring, intercepting in-bounds passes and scoring, turning the ball over, and stealing it back, chasing down ball handlers, and outrunning 5 defensive players in transition to score.

Gray De Sanders delivered the most impactful offensive performance of the game for Winter Haven. Known for her offense, she attacked the defense relentlessly, finishing drives to the basket and repeatedly getting to the free-throw line, where she converted 7-of-12 attempts. Gray de Sanders showed good handles, showed an ability to break down defenders off the dribble, and applied constant pressure in the paint. While she is known for her defensive presence, her scoring was much needed and proved to be the difference in the game.

Quin’nya Gray De Sanders is one of the top athletes and defenders in the State. At the FABC Showcase in Gainesville, a college coach called Quinn Sanders the most athletic player in the gym. On defense, that shows immediately. She can help, recover, switch, and still beat you to the spot. She disrupts actions and turns the opponent’s possessions into chaos. When Grey De Sanders is on the floor she erases advantages with speed and anticipation. She is also a blur in the transition game and a nightmare for her match-ups.

Quinn’NYA established herself as one of the top defenders in the state, and last season she emerged as one of the most disruptive guards in Florida. Her ability to pressure the ball, anticipate passing lanes, and create chaos consistently caused problems for the opponent. At the FABC Showcase, one college coach labeled her the best athlete in the building, and she delivered in the State playoffs, drawing similar praise. De Sanders can also score the basketball at the rim – getting there with speed and athletic abilities. She presently averages over 15 points per contest, but the 5.9 steals and 5.9 rebounds per game speak volumes about her game. Gray De Sanders used the play-offs last year to showcase her skill level, and she has not looked back since.

She was incredible at showcases tournaments and even as far back as the State Championship. De Sanders has the ability to disrupt an offense by herself. She can run down a fast break and send the ball back in her team’s direction for the score. She can be beaten and then catch up and gain the advantage. At the FABC showcase a reputable D-1 college coach called her the best athlete in the building.
