The conclusion to someone’s high school career ideally ends on the field of play – preferably in a state championship. Unfortunately for Haggard and her 5A Division 2 Chapin team, it occurred a couple of months ago as she suffered a torn ACL. Haggard would only play in 17 games in her senior season as an Eagle and would average 8.4 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.6 steals. Chapin, with former Denmark-Olar coach Terence Jones now at the helm, would have a successful season where the Eagles advanced to the Lower State semifinals. Ask anyone on that team and they would have lauded how they would have loved to have a healthy Haggard on the court for all 26 games. The basketball, golf and softball standout will head to East Tennessee State where she committed for softball.

Last month, Haggard was acknowledged for reaching two career plateaus for her time at 5A Division 2 Chapin. Not only did she eclipse 1,000 points as an Eagle but she also reached the 500-rebound mark as well. Following this season, Haggard will put her full attention toward softball as she committed to East Tennessee State. Through 11 games, Haggard is averaging 10.5 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.8 steals per contest. Chapin has begun the season at 8-5. The Eagles compete in one of the tougher regions in the state and that region slate commences this Friday when Chapin travels to 5A Division 1 Dutch Fork.

Once the 2025-26 season concludes, Haggard will put her full focus on softball as she announced her commitment to East Tennessee State late last month. Before she becomes a Buccaneer she has her final season with the basketball program at 5A Division 2 Chapin on the brains – a team that will have former Denmark-Olar coach Terence Jones at the helm in his first season with the Eagles. Haggard was one of three Chapin team captains last season and averaged nearly a double-double of 10.3 points and nine rebounds plus just over a steal and a block per contest in the 28 games she played.

Haggard is constantly in the middle of the action on both ends of the court. Reagan is a great athlete who excels on the softball diamond and as a golfer here at Chapin HS. Reagan connected on some mid-range jumpers today. She really anticipates well on the floor where the ball is at all times. Haggard will rebound out of her area at times and handle the ball out on the wing.
Reagan brings good versatility out on the perimeter. She averaged 9.3 ppg a season ago.

Haggard can do a little bit of this and a bit of that on the floor. Reagan connected on the three ball today from behind the arc. Haggard plays several sports at Chapin HS all at a high level.
Reagan brings effort and a competitive edge when it comes to jumping on the floor for a loose ball or making a defensive stop. She tends to be shot ready to receive the ball in the pocket and always seems to very coachable on the floor.

Haggard is a 3-sport athlete for an Eagles athletic program where she also manages to excel as a golfer and softball player. She stands at 5-foot-11 and displayed plenty of promise as a scorer and a rebounder. As a combo guard, she displays her versatility by being able to play either as a guard in the backcourt. Defensively, she puts her height and length to good use as a shot blocker. Haggard is a strong possibility to claim 3 more points on a play-by-play basis – even if those are the result of him absorbing contact and completing said play at the free throw line.

Fore (teen)! As in the No. 14 that the freshman Haggard wears when wearing the 5A Chapin colors and how she has played golf throughout her athletic career. Her well-rounded athletic resume also includes time on the softball diamond. Haggard is versatile in the sense that she can play virtually anywhere on the court and give her team productive minutes. Scoring on her is not easy given her proficiency for blocking shots. Haggard can be an accurate 3-point shooter and can also get three the old-fashioned way as she will draw contact and take her chances at the free throw line.
