A skilled and smart decision maker, Mayberry has a great feel for when to score herself or make great passes to her teammates. From simple drives and kicks, to a great wrap around pass on a drive to set up a teammate, the 918 standout has the vision and ability to set up her teammates.  She had flashes of high level finishing, with a soft touch that was at times unbothered by contact or contests. But other times, she barely missed on some attempts that would’ve turn a good day into a great day. As a member of one of the most prestigious basketball families in Oklahoma, the high level potential is obvious.

With a tremendous basketball pedigree (Four sisters played Division I basketball and dad played seven years in the NBA) and big game high school experience under her belt, Rhyian is a top-notch prospect. In a very physical game against the OK Swarm , Rhyian was too tough to stay in front of and was able to get to the basket with ease. Possesses a step back three-point jumper that players are never ready for, especially with it coming from her left. Just a very stylish smooth game, athletic layups, tough matchup for anyone.

Rhyian continues a trend of Mayberry’s in the top-20 of Oklahoma Girls Basketball player rankings and for good reason. As I said after first seeing her in person in Arkansas, this young lefty may be the best of the Division-I bunch! I try not to ever harp on who someone’s family is too much, but in this case it’s clear that her experience is paying off for her. She is advanced beyond her years on the defensive end and does a great job of playing passing lanes and reading things before they develop. She can absolutely shoot the lights out and when the defense starts to close out on her, she dishes some of the sweetest passes you’re ever going to see. The BTW Hornets are going to be must-see basketball this year and Rhyian is a big part of that!

It’s been a long time since I first saw Rhyian at BorderWar back in April of last year. Since then, she has improved even more… which is scary. She was already a tough player with a really good stroke from long range. On Sunday, she showed improved handles and even more confidence. At this point, the Mayberry women are a known commodity in Tulsa and Rhyian looks to be well on her way to being the next D-1 athlete in the family. A scorer from all three levels who is dedicated defensively and is lightning fast with or without the ball. You need to be keeping an eye on this young lady or you’re going to miss out!

Pull up in the midrange, defensively was engaged and active, Hit a half court buzzard beater in the first quarter. Created for her teammates by attacking and drawing double team, handled pressure well and was able to maneuver through traffic with her head up, Attacked the basket strong and was able to score or draw a foul.
