Riley Brooks Riley Brooks 6'2" | C/PF Independence | 2026 State TN is having a strong senior season and has been an integral part in trying to help improve on Independence’s record of 13-12 last season.

At 6’2″, Brooks is a player opposing teams constantly have to be aware of on both sides of the court. If they do not, she finds multiple avenues to help her team win, with interior defense and scoring being two of these pathways.

This year, she has had multiple games with two or more blocks, including a recent game against Centennial High School, where she had three. For a player of her height, she also moves extremely well, and her timing on contesting shot attempts is above average.

On offense, Brooks can score in a multitude of ways inside the paint. Her footwork and the way she maneuvers down low are things that stand out and make her effective in getting buckets in this area. To go with this, Brooks is also a constant offensive rebounding threat. She is also just a great rebounder in general on both sides of the court. She already has multiple double-doubles this season. This includes one against Brentwood Academy, where she had 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Someone who is going to be a huge impact for her Lady Eagles ball club. This kid can bang in the low post areas, finishing over either shoulder, adding a counter move if need be. She has a nice jumper; she will unleash from the mid-range areas. She will occasionally stretch the floor, knocking down a 3-pointer or two, keeping the defense honest. She excels in the screen game, setting solid picks for her guards to come off. What I love about her most is her ability to battle on the glass, securing the rebound with two, outletting the ball, and sprinting her lane towards the rim. This kid is going to be an important piece for IHS this season. Look for her to come out of the gates strong and leave everything she has on the floor.

 Look for this young lady to take the next steps of being a formidable presence for the Lady Eagles ball club. Blessed with size, this kid is ready to showcase her skills for all to see. She has put in a lot of work over the course of these past months, and her time is now as she is about to have a breakthrough. A skillful player who can exploit the interior at the high post and low block areas. Along with scoring the basketball, she is a solid defender who can block shots and grab boards consistently. She’s gained a ton of confidence, and her presence on the floor doesn’t go unnoticed. Look for her to make a name for herself this July and show coaches what she is all about.

A Tough interior player who just battles down low. She can score over either shoulder, knock down the mid-range jumper, and even stretch the floor out to hit the occasional 3. She plays with intentionality and always seems to be in the right spot at the right time. Her defense stands out as she blocks shots as well as contributes on the boards. Her game has grown over the year as she is playing with such confidence. This kid is coachable and is always looking to get better. You can tell she has been battletested as of late, how she gets after it on every possession. A workhorse who will help lead the charge of this Lady Eagles ballclub.

Solid big for the Lady Eagles, who can score the basketball. She can score from the mid-range, low blocks, and occasionally stretch the floor. There were multiple times where she cleaned up shot attempts and put it back up to draw the whistle. Riley, too, was solid on the defensive end, shutting down her opponent and really making them work. This kid is a solid talent, and her game keeps growing. This kid is someone to keep tabs on. She is going to be a big factor for this program as she anchors down the low-post areas. Solid kid with great upside.

I think she is becoming a prospect that is about to get busy. This kid has the size, can stretch the floor, but most importantly, she is gaining the confidence piece. Over the weekend, she battled against folks that she may normally not see on a consistent basis. She held her own plus did her own thing. She’s molding herself into a solid prospect that is going to be a major piece for the Lady Eagles this upcoming season.
