Versatile kid who has great size. A solid two-way player who doesn’t rest on either end of the court. She dialed it up a notch on the defensive end, causing havoc for opponents as she put them in tough spots to either score or make decisions. Offensively, she got after it. She utilized her quick first step to attack the floor and displayed an impressive ability to shoot the 3-ball. Playing with a lot of confidence, she is putting everyone on notice as we are witnessing a special talent. Look for her stock to continue to rise.

Ava Trudeau Ava Trudeau 5'11" | PG/SF Independence | 2029 TN showed great potential in her freshman season with Independence High School.

Trudeau displayed the potential ability to guard positions 1-4. She is quick enough to do so and has the height to do so. Her lateral foot speed especially stands out when defending on the perimeter. Guards have a difficult time getting around her.

On offense, Trudeau’s 3-point shot continually gets better with every game she plays. In a recent summer tournament game, she played against the NJ Scoreshots she made four 3-pointers. All four makes were off catch and shot actions. She did not hesitate on any of them. Trudeau also has a high relase point on her jumper that makes it hard for opposing players to affect her shot, especially guards.

One of the main areas Trudeau has contributed to this season to Independence is her defense. At her height of 5’11”, Trudeau is one of the best defenders on the team. She has the foot speed to hang with most guards and the size to defend most post players.

On offense, Trudeau can also space the floor with a good-looking three-point jumper. Against Franklin, she had two makes from behind the arc.

At the TN Hoops Expo, Trudeau showed off both of these skills. In five-on-five, she had multiple deflections, displayed good wing defense, and showed some capabilities of her three-point shot.

Trudeau at the wing position also has an above-average handle for her height at 5’10” and showed some flashes of her playmaking ability. As she is currently unranked, she should be a player to keep an eye on to eventually be a potential riser in the Prepr Girl Hoops rankings.

Sharpshooter who can score from multiple areas on the floor. She may not stand out at first glance, as she is a quiet assassin who gets after it. She will give you a bucket here, do something great over there, and before you look up again, her body of work will have impacted the game mightily. I love her attention to detail and the way she gets after it on both ends of the floor. Look for her to be a solid piece of the Lad Eagle attack as they look to fly high and take over the Wilco. District.

An exciting addition to the Lady Eagles’ program. This kid is a hard worker who can shoot the fire out of the ball. She can score from multiple spots on the floor, make timely assists, and contribute in many facets of the game. She will go along with the pieces that are already in place for the Lady Eagles’ program. Her addition makes this team even stronger and gives them a bright future, especially when it comes to contention for district titles.

Long and lanky kid who can shoot, handle the rock, and just competes. An aggressive player who was solid on both ends of the floor. She is a 3-level scoring threat that won’t hesitate to put it on the floor and go get a bucket. If she is given any space in the open court, she is going to step right into the 3. Defensively, she contributed on the boards, was always in position to help her teammates defend, and was solid defending on the ball as well. This kid is going to be special and is a nice addition to the Lady Eagles’ program.
