Expert Analysis
Tink Butler | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Ryan is a high-energy player who operates at a speed and pace that seems a step above everyone else on the floor. Unofficially, I had her in double figures in steals to go along with eight points, as her defensive activity consistently created extra possessions and transition opportunities. She attacked quickly off the turnover and got to the rim repeatedly. Ryan also showed good vision, making quality passes and keeping her teammates involved rather than allowing her pace to take her out of control. Her shooting form was solid and consistent, adding another dimension to an already impactful all-around performance.

Ryan continues to impress me every time she takes the court. She brings speed and intensity on both ends of the floor and her energy is infectious. She put pressure on the defense by consistently beating her defender off the dribble and making tough shots. She caused havoc on defense with heavy on ball pressure and a few passing lane steals.

Murphy’s neon orange shoes may grab your attention first, but the energy and personality in her game quickly give you another reason to watch. She is shifty with the ball, splitting defenders to reach the rim and penetrating the middle in transition to draw the defense before kicking out to an open shooter. She can also attack through contact and knock down shots herself.

Ryan was a late entry, playing only in the final game, but she quickly injected excitement into the gym with her personality, energy, and play. While she had the advantage of fresh legs, she looked like the best player on the floor and was nearly unstoppable offensively. She was a threat to score every time she touched the ball, getting to the basket at will while also shooting the three very well. Despite her ability to score, Ryan didn’t dominate the ball and continued to share it with her teammates. She communicated well on the floor and played under control, showing an impressive combination of confidence, skill, and feel for the game.

Ryan put together one of the more entertaining performances of the day, finishing with 13 points while showcasing her athleticism on nearly every scoring opportunity. Whether attacking the rim through contact or stepping out to knock down a three-pointer, each basket seemed to energize the crowd with its degree of difficulty. She displayed excellent body control and toughness, consistently converting plays despite heavy defensive pressure.
Her impact wasn’t limited to the offensive end. Ryan competed with the same intensity on defense, using her athleticism and effort to disrupt opposing players and make life difficult for ball handlers. It was a complete two-way performance that highlighted her ability to influence the game on both ends of the floor.
