Steady as they come, puts together a solid body of work, and it was very evident the value she brings to her Nolensville club. She had 12 points and seven boards, helping her team beat Rockvale 64-62 Friday night. Sara has always been the girl who cleans up. She does the tough stuff, putting her squad over herself. She may not get the pub, but her contributions are what make this team tick. Keep an eye on this young lady as she continues to put up solid numbers that will lead to success and hopefully a district title for these Lady Knights.

Long and active power forward who has a knack for being around the ball. Can work both from the arc and inside, but prides herself on grabbing boards, getting steals, and blocking shots. Moves her body well as she if fundamentally sound on the defensive end. She may not be the leading scorer on her team, but her impact is felt in other aspects of the game. She’s the girl who is going to get an assignment from her coach and fulfill it and then some. Talented junior who loves to compete no matter what’s at stake.

Watch her for even a short while, and her enthusiasm for the game becomes apparent. She’s a really nice athlete, with a big frame….incredibly disruptive on the ball defender. Can switch and guard up or down the roster. Her scoring is nice, but it’s the rebounding and blocks from a wing that’s so impressive to me. I think those players that can contribute across the box score is undervalued, and Brakefield does just that.

Turned herself into an undersized post (5’9) that plays like a 6 footer. Defensively…she’s a terror. She uses her athleticism to cover the entire floor and gave Nolensville 2.3 blocks and 1.3 steals. Offensively her game took a nice jump as she turned herself into a more refined scorer averaging 9 points on nice efficiency numbers.

Brakefield does a phenomenal job carving out space as a physical post. Her size isn’t huge, but she knows how to use her body and angles extremely well. Nice array of post moves around the rim, and shows signs of really nice touch. Physical rebounder. Knocked down big 1st half shots. High upside kid.

We really enjoy Brakefield’s overall, well-rounded game. Her diversity is part of what makes Nolensivlle so tough this year. In a win over Ravenwood, Brakefield had a near triple double with 11 points, 15 rebounds, and 8 blocks. Extremely competitive kids with an exceptional motor.
