Expert Analysis
Byron Xerxes Livsey | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
As of now, Schlichtman brings enough to impact every game she’s in and every possession she’s involved in. She can step out and knock down the 12-15ft jumper, or get on the block and score in that area. Her footwork is solid, and she has no issue being patient when the ball is in her hands. She doesn’t rush through touches, reads what the defense gives her, and finds ways to stay effective around the paint. There is still room for growth, but she will be a player to know in this class.

Simone is a skilled player, and it does not take long to notice it. She has the ability to rebound and immediately initiate transition herself, which adds another layer to her value. Her jumper is smooth, and she shoots it with confidence whenever she has the opportunity. Simone is a matchup problem for a lot of teams because of how effectively she can play both inside and out. Around the basket, her footwork is polished and she consistently looks balanced, which helps her finish efficiently in traffic. On the perimeter, she reads closeouts well and attacks accordingly. Simone has a very intriguing game, and I’m looking forward to seeing how she continues to perform throughout the spring and summer.

Bigger than you think, Schlichtman stood out as a glue player. She rebounded well, hit open shots, and was efficient with her dribbles. Always in the right place defensively. Whitney Young has quick guards and an elite inside presence, and she gave them strong minutes in a big win. Players like her often decide close games without getting much recognition.
