Thia is a freshman who looks ready to be an immediate impact player at Oxford. Something that makes me confident in that claim is the fact that Thia plays with poise, creates for others, doesn’t force the issue, and has the versatility to play a guard or forward. She added a multidimensional presence to her team at The Compound open gym. She has a high IQ and awareness of spacing on the court. Thia moves well on the defensive end, which takes away straight line drives. She made good reads off the ball and finished efficiently at the rim. Thai sprinted ahead to score a speedy catch and finish with her left, ripped inside to score a soft floater after securing the offensive board, cut backdoor for a catch and finish layup, and made unselfish pases. She worked hard to secure rebounds and was consistent throughout the session.

Thia played with a strong presence during the 5v5 portion of the PGH Michigan Freshman Showcase. The Team 7 wing consistently put pressure on the defense by attacking the basket hard and showing no hesitation when challenging defenders at the rim. She showed the strength to absorb contact and still finish around the basket. Thia also worked hard on the glass, using her physicality and effort to come away with rebounds on both ends of the floor.
