About Sophia

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Dynamic two-way guard who pressures the rim and scores at all three levels. Elite downhill attacker with pace and control, capable of creating offense for herself and teammates. Defensively, applies strong on-ball pressure, forces turnovers, and plays with a high motor. Consistent impact on both ends with a competitive edge.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

High-motor competitor with a team-first mindset. Brings energy every day, embraces hard work, and is always looking to improve. Confident but coachable, thrives in big moments, and leads by example through effort, toughness, and consistency.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Actively involved in supporting Unified Sports, working with student-athletes and helping create an inclusive team environment. Earned First Team All-County (CMC Large School) recognition. Three time Frederick news post player of the week.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

High-level competitor who has developed leadership and communication skills while playing varsity basketball at a young age. Leads by example through effort, toughness, and consistency. Active in community service through Unified Sports and youth basketball clinics. Brings a team-first mentality, strong work ethic, and the ability to impact both culture and performance on and off the court.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Competing at the varsity level as a younger player has been a challenge, especially going against older, more experienced competition. I’ve had to adjust quickly, stay confident, and earn my role through hard work. That experience has helped me develop toughness, resilience, and the ability to perform under pressure.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college where I can compete at a high level, be challenged every day, and continue to develop as a player. A program with strong culture, discipline, and player development is important to me, along with a coaching staff that believes in me and pushes me to reach my full potential. Academics are also a priority.
