Rodriguez has also shown improvement in her “poise under pressure” yet seeing not only her confidence rise, but her wanting the ball in pressure situations, as well as delivering, played a part in her high school squad knocking some heavy hitters off to reach the state semifinals see evaluations here

Rodriguez is arguably one of the top sophomores in the state. I put her out there early because I already know where the bar has been set from another era, and she has done nothing but continue to prove me right because her “poise under pressure” and ability to drop the jumper in the clutch is a problem see evaluations here

Rodriguez attacks the basket smoothly, and her sleekness to maneuver in traffic with the ball and change direction in one motion is a problem for defenders. Her crossover has gotten better, so has her ability to “thread the needle” in traffic and get her teammates good looks, but watching her drop the mid to long-range while being defended looked good, so did her defens,e including playing the passing lane

#14 up from #17 Rodriguez had me drop that #D1Lock on her in the 4th or 5th grade, and her “on the court” progression, while playing up over the years, has shown me that she’s battle tested and wasn’t afraid of going against older, taller, and stronger players, many whom are heading or have headed to the next level see evaluations here

Rodriguez had me drop the #D1Lock on her in the 4th or 5th grade, I’m THAT GOOD, but so is she, and I saw the potential early as she was playing a few years up and holding her own. Now, she makes her presence felt when she is one of the best players each time she steps on the court. Her handling of the ball and seeing the floor under pressure was solid, and so was her mid to long-range jumper, plus watching her “on the ball” pressure, as well as picking pockets, was solid, as was her finishing after contact off the dribble

#17 up from #20 Rodriguez sold me in the 4th or 5th grade playing up and her status continues to fly up, Up and AWAY because she’s becoming a “nightmare to defend” as she’s gotten stronger and quicker but her attacking the basket from wherever she wants to score as well as dropping the mid to long-range have shot up, so has her defense including playing the passing lane and picking pockets see evaluations here

Rodriguez reminds me of that song “Ain’t No Stopping Us Now” as she continues to elevate her game. Thinking back on the punishment she received playing up and kept coming back to drop jumpers has paid off as she’s doing the punishing by showing she can score multiple ways while being defended. Her court vision and defense also looked good

Rodriguez had me confused a few times, showing her ability to accelerate by turning on the turbo in transition, something she’s added yet, giving her another intangible. She’s finishing stronger after contact, her court vision has shot up, yet watching her create her shot and drop the mid to long-range with a hand in her face was nice

Rodriguez took me back to when I first saw her mental toughness as a 4th grader getting beat up on the court by older players and still managing to go off, and I used the “Izzy will be making ’em DIZZY”. Steadily, she paid her dues, and it has clicked as she’s realizing how good she is, so her court vision and ball handling under pressure, scoring off the dribble as well as dropping the jumper, are making her hard to handle. The slight HEZ looks good, so does the crossover, so remember I said DIZZY 5 years ago

Rodriguez had me tweeting “Izzy making ’em Dizzy” years ago, and seeing her being knocked around while playing up sold me a very long time ago. She’s one of the top freshmen in Texas, and she understands how to let the game come to her because her court vision and defense or solid, but at any moment, she can flip the switch and score in droves, off the dribble as well as mid to long-range
