One of the tallest players that the state of Nebraska has to offer is PF –

of Millard South. Varn would be considered a PF compared to a Center because of her ability to move so well. This is a multiple sport athlete with a better than average athletic ability. When you pair that with her natural height, you get something special. You get someone that can be a rim protector, while also being an offensive threat on every possession down the floor. Varn has demonstrated that she has a solid base overall moving into this Winter. She has all the intangibles you want from a player + size + discipline. From a coaching perspective, what more can you ask for? In this Update, Varn moves into the Top 30 with some more work to still be done.

This AAU season brought on a lot of interest for

of Millard South High School. Which makes sense. Varn is a 6’3 PF/C, who is slowing adding onto her game as she gets older. As we always say in this game, you can’t teach height. Being 6’2/6’3 and being able to move is no joke and it’s going to bring a lot of interest from the next level for Varn until she ends up committing. This is a defensively shot blocker, a rim protector, a paint protector, and a high end rebounder. Those things will all translate at the next level and I’m sure she is going to demonstrate that to a T over the next two years of varsity ball.

The combination of size, touch, and situational awareness that

brings to the floor is starting to really stand out. Metaphorically and literally. Varn is sitting between 6’2 and 6’3 at the moment and that, along with her athletic ability is catching the eyes of a lot of college programs across the Country. We always say you can’t teach height and when you have coordination too, watch out. Varn competes with a great base and fundamentals. If she sticks to that and gets stronger as she continues to grow up – she might be a on D1 floor before you know it.

When you have a player that produces in almost every category of the game in one way or another, it’s noteworthy. That’s what we have here with

and her first contest on the day on Friday morning in Texas. Varn finished game one with 6 points (2/6, 5 rebounds, and 2 blocks. Including going 2/4 from behind the three point line to register her 6 total points. With Varn’s size and natural length, you can tell that she is someone under the hoop that is self-aware. She makes good choices a majority of the time down there and that leads to her stuffing the stat sheet in most categories. That she can also step out and hit three’s adds another layer to her game. It’s early on in her career but there is a lot to like about Varn. I think she plays the game the right way and that could translate to the next level before you know it.

When it comes to

, she is still a work in progress but so far, she has looked really good this AAU season with her
Nebraska Supreme
team. Varn comes in as one of the tallest prospects out of this 2027 Class with a lot of future potential to build on. She has pretty solid coordination with a soft touch on the ball and she can be a real game changer on offense because of that. Defensively, she is someone that others need. to worry about. If they don’t, it will most likely end up in a block party for Varn at the rim. This is one of those prospects that if she continues to work on the correct things moving forward, she could be an underrated star out of this 2027 Class by the time her high school career comes to a close.

will take the floor this weekend in hopes of continue the great AAU season she has put together so far with her
Nebraska Supreme
15U team. Varn is a lengthy Forward. She has great size for her age and Class level but also has shown that she is coordinated and understands balance. She has demonstrated that she is very good at finishing at the hoop with her natural reach and she can finish through contact at a high rate. This is one of those prospects that if she can continue to grow her game and her athletic ability stays in full gear, she could be a top player out of her 2028 Class. She is on that pace right now but we will just have to see how it plays out over the next few years. As for this weekend, she is going to do what she usually does and compete at a high rate.

This weekend was the first chance I had to tap in to watch

out of Nebraska and I was thoroughly impressed. Varn is a prospect out of the 2027 Class and she is physically dominant in several aspects of the game. Varn may be someone from a younger Class but she has great size at 6’1 and she understands situational basketball. When you are someone that is excelling on the hardwood, right when you get onto the high school floor it usually means that mentally, you have it together. If you then add the fact that she has raw skill and great size, things start to become scary for anyone that would have to matchup with her. This upcoming Winter season, I’ll have an eye on Varn and her high school program. She could turn into something really special down the line but at this time, she shined this weekend and I’m hoping that continues moving forward.
