Surry has length, athleticism, mobility, and skill as an incoming freshman that project her to a high level of college basketball. She stood out early during the 3v3 segment: scoring a contested bucket off a face-up drive and stunning a defender with a jab step before driving by to earn a trip to the line. Surry continued to impress with Team Eight at the PGH Illinois Freshman Showcase. Surry has excellent passing instincts, and as the defense converged on her dribble, she knew where the ball needed to go. Surry threw an accurate pass out of the high post to an open perimeter shooter for an assist on a corner three and showed her own range by sinking a long jumper from the corner. She won battles inside to secure many offensive rebounds and attacked off the dribble. Surry faced up, drove to the rim, and made a smooth transfer to her left hand for the finish. She made a nice spin move off a drive, read the shot off the rim, and showed her athleticism by tipping in the miss from an improbable angle.

Brown is a player that is fun to watch. She is a really good player who has fun playing the game and it shows when she is on the court for BC Denver . This post player is full of energy on both ends of the court. On defense she uses her length well to be in the passing lanes and to take up space in the paint. She keeps other post players from being able to establish position and she is great on the boards. Her energy carries over very well to the offensive end. Surry is quick and beats most players down the floor where she gets both easy buckets and easy position in the paint. Brown can score well with her back to the basket, she has good footwork and is strong with the ball in her hands. She is also aggressive playing from the high post, she can get to the bucket and hit mid-range jumpers to be an all around offensive threat. Brown has the skill and game energy to keep her going strong throughout the tournament and the entire grassroots summer.
