The post player from Sun Prairie is one of the more skilled posts in a talented class of players around Wisconsin. She does the fundamental things well, like pivoting in the post, rebounding while keeping the ball high, and finishing around the basket. Post players usually come along slower than guards do, and I already love where she’s at heading into high school. She can continue to grow by getting more comfortable with her off-hand and making plays around the basket. She’s one to keep tabs on.

The future Sun Prairie West forward stood out as one of the largest players in the gym, but there was a lot to like about her game. One thing you see, even with the most talented post players, is that they bring the ball down to their waist, which allows smaller defenders to make a play on the ball. Buckley never does that. I thought she was impressive around the basket, and has a chance to be a productive post player early in her high school career, and could develop more than you’d expect because post players tend to come along a little slower. I really liked her game.

Buckley stood out to me while playing summer league for loaded Sun Prairie West team that featured a bunch of promising incoming freshmen at Justagame Fieldhouse, She was able to grab any rebound she wanted off the offensive glass and putting it back at a high percentage. I look forward to seeing how she does up against some of the best girls in the State this upcoming week.
