Hannah was another player for the Mystics who was an excellent running mate with Mia McGregor Mia McGregor 5'10" | CG Mio-Au Sable | 2027 State MI when she was on the floor consistently knocking down three point shots from both corner and wing areas as well as the semi-circle around the top of the key. If Avery was open and she had room there was no hesitation in her shot, nor should there be when she shot the ball at such a high percentage. She is not just a shooter, however as Hannah is a great athlete and she used her speed and quickness to get out on the break as a threat to score, driving the ball to the basket and finishing at the rim, and applying maximum pressure to opposing ball handlers. She will continue her career and Loyola-Chicago where I expect her to have a very good career on the division two level.

Avery showed why she is a Roosevelt commit with her strong two-way play for the Mystics at the Tuesday Night Tune Up. The guard made her presence felt offensively by consistently stretching the floor and connecting on multiple shots from beyond the arc. She played with confidence and was ready to capitalize whenever she found open looks. Defensively, Avery was active and disruptive, reading plays well, jumping passing lanes, and creating steals that helped turn defense into offense. Her ability to impact the game with her shooting, instincts, and effort made her a standout performer.

Avery has a reputation for her dangerous perimeter shooting and she caught fire for Mystics 17 P24 on Sunday at the PGH MI College Tour III. Avery moved to open space and made the defense pay, burying three triples in the second half of the Diamond Championship Game. She finished a smooth transition bucket for good measure and secured an offer from Davenport University following the tournament.

Avery set the single-season record for three-pointers made with 57 for the Vikings as a junior. She’s now hit the most threes in Haslett history with over 126. In the Regional Semifinals, Avery swished a wing three in the first half and drilled a step-back triple in the fourth quarter. Avery stuck with her shot in traffic, secured the offensive board, and scored the putback through contact. She completed the old-fashioned three point play at the line. Avery showed her ability to get downhill, splitting defenders on a drive through the paint for two points. She poured in 11 points for Haslett and will the top returner next season.

In a battle of two ranked D2s, Avery was at her best, sinking three triples and leading Haslett with 19 points to beat Portland 66-49. She also set a new mark with 126 career three-pointers for Haslett.

Avery had a productive week for Haslett, and she stepped up in their toughest test. Avery poured in 22 points with four rebounds, two steals, two blocks, and one assist during a 62-56 win at Frankenmuth. She averaged 12 points, three rebounds, two deflections, 1.5 steals, and one block per game as the Vikings went 3-0.

Avery set a single-season 3pt record last season and she looks ready for another huge year. At the LBI Mitten Opening, Avery buried a corner three, secured rebounds, and stayed active on the defensive end. She snagged a loose ball and took it the other way with pace to score a tough breakaway layup. Avery anticipated a pass, picked it off, and finished with another fast break layup.

Avery isn’t the girl you want to leave open on the perimeter. You’re playing with fire when you do, and teams got burned at Mystics Get Ready on Saturday. She has a balanced stance, quick release, and a confident wrist snapping follow-through. Avery is very good at adjusting her feet when she catches passes to be in position to shoot accurately. She drained three corner triples that helped Mystics 2027 P24 secure a hard-fought win vs. a phenomenal Mystics 2028-S40 team and actively deflected passes on defense.

Avery had a memorable sophomore season for Haslett, earning All-Conference CAAC-Red honors. She averaged 11 points, two assists, and two rebounds while setting a single-season record with 57 triples. Avery took over games last spring with her outside shooting and I’m excited to see her compete with Mystics 2027 P24 this spring.
