Johnson Central had one of the best seasons in program history finishing with a 29-3 record as well as a 57th district championship. Senior guard Taylor Mckenzie was the catalyst to the Lady Eagles success as they were one game away from making it to the Sweet 16. Mckenzie finished the season averaging 11 PPG and was a 1st team All-Region Selection.

Taylor Mackenzie was the 2nd leading scorer for Johnson Central last season averaging 12PPG. Taylor is a lethal long range shooter with a quick release and a perfect shooting form. She is very aggressive on offense, and has a knack for drawing contact and getting to the free throw line, where she shot 62.4% and average 2.6 made free throws per game last season. The Lady Eagles will go as far as Taylor and her sister Kaylyn will take them this season, I can see them getting back to the district championship game in a rematch against Paintsville.

McKenzie’s ability to apply a lot of pressure defensively is what initially caught my eye. She was playing absolutely fearless. Sees the floor and makes good passes in transition. Can handle the ball well and can knock down shots quickly. She has PG skills, but actually plays more of a shooting or combo guard position. However, because of her court vision and the way she managed the court, I had to include her here.
