Natajia is coming off a incredible AAU season playing with Lady Vision Elite GUAA Rise. She put up big numbers all summer and picked up multiple college offers along the way. She is a lockdown defender and a great spot-up shooter from deep, I believe her 3 and D capabilities will transition really well at the next level. She is also very effective in transition, with her speed and ability to finish at the rim. She transferred to Bowling Green for her senior season, which is the top program in Western Kentucky. Natajia will provide much needed senior leadership and will be looking to help guide the Lady Purples back to the state tournament.
Leia Trinh Leia Trinh 5’6″ | CG Greenwood | 2024 State KY is the best girls basketball player to ever come out of Greenwood High School. As a junior she became the first player in program history to reach 2,000 career apoints. She led the Lady Gators in scoring last season averaging 19PPG shooting 37% from the field. Her scoring output is amazing, she is capable of putting up 20+ points anytime she steps on the court. She finished the season as one of the top players in the 14th district and the 4th region, making her an easy selection for the All-Hoops district team and the All-Region 1st team. Leia flies under the radar due to not playing for any travel teams, but she is a prolific scorer that you can count on to put points up, especially in clutch moments. I think she will average 25+ points a game this season.
In 20 games played last season she averaged 5.2 points and 4 rebounds. Kalani is a gifted passer with tremendous court-vision. She is a solid perimeter shooter that can also get to rim and finish through contact. Kalani is a tough competitor that plays hard on both ends of the floor. I watched her compete at the PGH Top 250 Expo and it was obvious to me that she can play at the next level. I see a big senior season in the works for her.
Highlights
Taylor Mackenzie was the 2nd leading scorer for Johnson Central last season averaging 12PPG. Taylor is a lethal long range shooter with a quick release and a perfect shooting form. She is very aggressive on offense, and has a knack for drawing contact and getting to the free throw line, where she shot 62.4% and average 2.6 made free throws per game last season. The Lady Eagles will go as far as Taylor and her sister Kaylyn will take them this season, I can see them getting back to the district championship game in a rematch against Paintsville.
Highlights
If you like players that give an all-out effort on both ends of the court, then Emma Owens Emma Owens 5’6″ | PG Harlan | 2024 State KY is the prospect for you. She put up 13.7PPG and came up with multiple steals per game. Emma is a scrappy defender and a terrific perimeter shooter that you can count on to make open shots. Harlan is returning all their top players from last season and they look like a lock to win the 52nd district this season.
