Recruitment Update: July 30th, 2026

Here are a few athletes out of Iowa that have recently been offered or they have recently committed to compete at the next level following their impressive AAU seasons this Summer.    Every player listed has shown off their skill-set over the years with their varsity high school team and that has helped them prove to recruiters that they have what it takes to suit up at the next level following their high school careers. Offer: Northwestern (IL)   Picking up one of her first D1 offers, [player_tooltip player_id='1092007' first='Sadie' last='McCann'] received an offer from Northwestern following her 16U AIA EYBL Championship at Nike Nationals this last week. McCann is a game controller. She doesn't stand out as someone with a super high usage rate but she knows how to play the right way. She is the definition of someone that makes everyone else around her better because of her play on both sides of the ball. She is selfless and skilled, a deadly combination when put in the right hands.     Offer: Cornell College (IA)   After closing out her last AAU season on the road, [player_tooltip player_id='884848' first='Liv' last='Adams'] scoops up an offer from in-state powerhouse Cornell College. Cornell has been getting some producers the last few years and this might be another. They do a great job of running their system's to a T when they compete and that plays right into how Adams plays the game from the PG position so if she does end up as a Ram, there is definitely a way she see's the court early on in her college career, depending on who is listed in front of her on the depth chart when she would step on campus!     Offers: Columbia (NY), High Point (NC), Fairfield (CT)   The interest coming in for Dill right now are intriguing. She has several schools on the East Coast that are interested in her play-style and they have made that obvious over the last few days with their offers. Columbia, High Point, and Fairfield are programs that are known for running dynamic systems on both offense/defense and they all want Dill to be their leader in charge. She is a talented guard, who can pass and shoot the leather off the ball when it's passed back to her so I can see where these programs are coming from. She is a natural SG but she played a lot of PG this Spring/Summer while they won a Nike National Title so I don't think it's crazy that she moves to the PG spot for college possibly.     Offer: Cleveland State (OH)   The knock down shooter that is [player_tooltip player_id='677842' first='Tylee' last='Weite'] locked in another D1 offer earlier this week and this time it's to Cleveland State out of Ohio. This is on pace with the other offers that Weite possesses. Currently she is sitting with several D1 offers from all around the Country, specifically with most coming out of the Midwest. This is a D1 level shooter, who can handle and do other impactful things as a competitor. She is coming off of the last AAU season of her career and there isn't a better way to move from that, into the Fall/Winter, than with another official offer to compete following high school ball.     Offer: Illinois State (IL)   I'm not sure how recent it is but [player_tooltip player_id='880911' first='Victoria' last='Burpo'] of Waukee NW High School solidified one of her first D1 offers with Illinois State throwing their name into the hat for Burpo's commitment. Burpo is known as a strong and coordinated PF. She can finish near the bucket through contact all contest long and she is someone that others need to note defensively. If they don't, she is going to be right there it block or alter whatever offensive attempt is going up. Illinois State is known for taking strong PF/Center's out of the Midwest. It works with how they play the game and they are looking to lock in another with the commitment of Burpo down the line.     Offers: Utah (UT), Northwestern (IL), Virginia Tech (VA)   It's no surprise to anyone that watched EYBL this season that [player_tooltip player_id='883552' first='Braylyn' last='Birmingham'] is going to be a HOT topic in the recruitment game moving forward. BB was her team's leader this season on the way to a 16U National Title. She was a force for the opponent to deal with on both sides of the ball and she produced eye-opening numbers on their National title run. She was basically the leading scorer each game and that's no easy feat against some of the best competition in the country. Following this Championship, Birmingham locked in offers from Utah, Northwestern, and Virginia Tech. These are great offers but they won't be her last. I'm sure that BB is going to have several visits this Fall before moving into her Junior season at Norwalk. From there, anything could happen.     Offer: Northwestern College (IA)   I have said this once and I will say it again, [player_tooltip player_id='1876311' first='Ava' last='Carolan'] is going to be a STEAL for someone out of the Midwest. Carolan competes for West Lyon High School so not everyone see's what she can do on a consistent basis but she can go. We are talking about a 5'11 CG, who moves well with her size. She has balanced coordination as an athlete and she can play at multiple positions with success because of her length. She is mismatch in several situations and she knows how to take full advantage of that. Recently, Carolan was offered by Northwestern College (NAIA) out of Iowa. This is another solid offer for her to add to the pile she is starting to stack up.     Offers: Dominica (IL), Mount Mercy (IA)   We are going to see more out of [player_tooltip player_id='912623' first='Sydney' last='Felice'] this Winter at Johnston High School with everyone they graduated from last year's roster. Felice has had some spot minutes over her season's on Varsity but she has done a great job of standing out on the AAU floor in the meantime so that she could get see to play at the next level. Earlier this week, Felice grabbed two different offers. One from Dominica (IL) and one from Mount Mercy (IA). These two are the first but there should be a few others interested in Felice's future moving into this Fall. She is such a sound individual, that in the right system and at the right position, she could produce steady numbers as a role player within a successful program. She just needs to figure out who's system that is.     Offer: Montana State (MT)   Another One. [player_tooltip player_id='920715' first='Emily' last='Tanny'] grabs another D1 offer, this time to Montana State, to compete following high school ball. This is the 2nd or 3rd D1 offer for Tanny and it's only the beginning. It seems like every-time we see her play, she is taller than the time before and that is noteworthy when you know the fact that she was 6'0 the last time we watched her. Now she is right around 6'1 and continuing to grow. When you pair that with natural PG ability - it's astonishing to watch. Tanny does come from WNBA blood so this take-off is somewhat expected. That's usually not how it works but you can see that she is slowly becoming bigger and better so the real question is, when will that stop? Because if it doesn't, who knows where she might end up during her basketball career.     Offers: Columbia (NY), Utah (UT), Northwestern (IL)   [player_tooltip player_id='880913' first='Kelli' last='Kalb'] of Johnston High School and AIA 16U EYBL is continuing to grab more and more Division-1 offers as she continues to grow and show her worth on bigger stages. If you are out of Iowa, you know all about Kalb and how she hoops. She is a D1 level SG, who stands at 6'0, who can score in BUNCHES if she isn't marked early on in a battle. It doesn't take much for her to get HOT from the flood, something we have seen time and time again over the seasons. Kalb brings in offers from Columbia, Utah, and Northwestern. Each one of these programs would be a great option for her in the future if she were to choose to attend one of them but I think we are still a year+ away from that decision coming so in the mean-time we will watch from afar and see who else throws their name in for consideration.     Commitment: Buena Vista (IA)   [player_tooltip player_id='766457' first='Rylie' last='Fugate'] will be taking her talented to Buena Vista to compete at the next level following this Winter. Fugate, the 5'6 CG, is probably going to be looked at as a PG at the next level because of her size and skill level. She will be looked upon to be in-charge of the offense and to run their team as a whole by example - something I'm sure she is up for the challenge for. We have seen Fugate grow over the years as a player and as a teammate. If she sticks with this game and stays in love with the process, she should continue to get better as a hooper as she gets older.
