Burpo comes into this Update as a Top 20 rated prospect out of this Class because of her combination of height, physicality, and relentlessness in her pursuit of the basketball near the hoop. She currently still sits with a D1 offer and interest from all over the Midwest at a few different division levels at this point with how well she can control in-between the blocks. Her back to the basket work is impressive whenever she has a 1v1 matchup on offense, always being able to finish in one way or another around the opponent and her defense is noteworthy to say the least. Waukee NW is going to be favored to win the 5A Class State Title to begin this Winter and a big reason for that prediction will be because they will be able to control the boards with Burpo and Company. If they build off of what they have set in place the last two seasons, they are going to love how things end up by the time that the 2026-2026 high school season comes to a close.

You know there is always going to be collegiate interest whenever you are talking about a 5'11/6'0 CG at the high school level. That's what we have with [player_tooltip player_id='884847' first='Olivia' last='Baker'] of Waukee High School and [program_tooltip program_id='779942' first='ETG' last='Midwest Elite 3SSB']. Baker has been grabbing interest from schools all over for a couple of seasons now. Like I said, everyone loves her potential when you look at her for her size and position. Not only can she produce as your three-guard but she can also move to the 2 spot and play off the ball as a main scoring threat or she can move to the PG spot to run the offense if her other teammates are having trouble while bringing it down the floor. I'm not sure where Baker is going to end up just yet but she will have options. I'm sure she has some visits scheduled for this Fall so we will have to wait to see how it all plays out.

One of the best overall shooters out of this 2028 Class moving into the month of July is [player_tooltip player_id='883553' first='Quinn' last='Pershing'] of Mount Vernon High School. Pershing makes the ball go into the hoop at a high rate off the catch and shoot or at least she did last Winter as a Sophomore. We know the work that QP puts in during her off-season work and how many shots she has made over her career while working in the gym. It's not shocking that her shot is starting to fall at elite rates as she plays at the Varsity level. She has dedicated a big portion of her life to this game and the game is starting to give back. That's what you love to see out of a promising, young talent.

[player_tooltip player_id='1186492' first='Brooklyn' last='Hughes'] was Akron's main producer on both ends of the ball last season as a Sophomore when she averaged 12 PPG, 3 RPG, & 2 APG. She led her team in PPG on 37% shooting and she led her team in APG as well. This Winter her goal will be to stuff the stat sheet in a positive way as much as possible. She could definitely end up with higher rebounding numbers with how active she is and we would like to see her cut down on the TO's but other than that, I'm sure it's going to be much of the same for Hughes moving into her Junior season. This is someone that has shown glimpses of being special leading up to now. At this point it's time for her to play with confidence and keep that rolling!

[player_tooltip player_id='880921' first='Callie' last='Stull'] won't be the main offensive player for Ankeny this upcoming Winter season but she will be someone that should see ample minutes at the Varsity level over her next two years if she plays her cards correctly. Stull is a 5'5 PG, that has a deeper skill bag than most might realize. Within 1v1 situations she is really good at knowing how to beat her matchup while playing off of two feet with several counter moves always being an option when she gets into the teeth of the defense. This Ankeny group is going to be looking for their identity moving into this season and I think Stull is going to be a big part of that if she plays within her own abilities.
