Lady Chargers Stay Hot:
Northwood Academy continued its winning streak today with a win over Cardinal Newman. The Lady Chargers the winners of 18 games in a row improved to (25-2) on the season. Senior Alayah Birch Alayah Birch 5'9" | CG Northwood Academy | 2024 State SC led the way with 30 points today. Birch was able to showcase her ability to rebound the ball and always make herself available to make a play on both ends of the court. Birch currently right at 1,701 career points after last night while missing all of her junior season.
Senior guard Virginia Byrd Virginia Byrd 5'5" | PG Northwood Academy | 2024 State SC had a strong showing scoring 18 points tonight. Byrd connected on 4 three-pointers from downtown. The Lady Chargers jumped out to a big halftime lead at 38-12 tonight.
Sophomore Teonna Draughn Teonna Draughn 5'5" | PG Cardinal Newman | 2026 State SC finished with 17 points for Cardinal Newman. Draughn and the Lady Cardinals will look to regroup for the future. Draughn is a quick guard in transition and really looks to excels in the open floor a times. Freshman post player Zaria Thompson Zaria Thompson 6'3" | C Cardinal Newman | 2027 State SC finished with 7 points in the loss.
Highlanders Start Slow but Finish Fast:
Heathwood Hall led just 22-15 over the Lady Cyclones at the halftime break. The Lady Highlanders eventually would pull away in the 2nd half and cruise to a victory. Junior guard Lauren Jacobs Lauren Jacobs 5'9" | PG Heathwood Hall | 2025 State SC came into the contest averaging 31.5 ppg this season. Lauren would finish with 27 points today in the win. Jacobs does a great job of getting the ball into the paint and attacking the gaps. She excels in the open court and really pushing the tempo. Teammates Camillea Gore Camillea Gore 6'0" | SG Heathwood Hall | 2025 State SC and Sabreya Monsanto Sabreya Monsanto 5'11" | SF Heathwood Hall | 2025 State SC finished with 9 and 8 points respectively.
The Lady Cyclones were led by Perry Chambers Perry Chambers 6'3" | C Porter Gaud | 2025 State SC with 9 points and Leah Creaturo Leah Creaturo 5'9" | PF Porter Gaud | 2024 State SC added 8 points.
Lady Hurricanes Hold Down Lady Titans:
The First Baptist Lady Hurricanes really stifled Trinity Collegiate all night long tonight. The Lady Hurricanes will advance to the semifinals to play Heathwood Hall after defeating the Lady Titans tonight 40-22. Limestone signee guard Yannah Seaberry Yannah Seaberry 5'6" | CG First Baptist | 2024 State SC led the way with 13 points while sophomore forward AVA RUSH AVA RUSH 6'2" | SF First Baptist | 2026 State SC added 12 points in the win. Seaberry was able to connect on some perimeter jumpers here tonight while Rush was constant playing active on both ends of the court. Ava can stretch the defense with her mobility and ability to play out on the perimeter.
The Lady Titans continued get anything on track tonight. Makayla Legette Makayla Legette 5'5" | SG Trinity Collegiate | 2025 State SC and Autumn Kind Autumn Kind 5'6" | PF Trinity Collegiate | 2026 State SC both finished with 7 points apiece tonight in the loss.
Suddeth Leads Lady Eagles:
Palmetto Christian Academy defeated a feisty Pee Dee Academy squad tonight 52-48. Cokey Suddeth Cokey Suddeth 6'0" | SF Palmetto Christian Academy | 2025 State SC finished with 33 points and 13 rebounds in the win. Suddeth and the Lady Eagles will play Hilton Head Christian in the next round of the playoffs. Cokey continues to showcase her game with her ability to play inside-out on the floor.
Lizzie McCaskill led Pee Dee Academy with 22 points while Rebecca Hammond Rebecca Hammond 5'8" | PF Pee Dee Academy | 2025 State SC finished with 10 points.
