Henderson plays in the very Northern part of the Palmetto State up at Blue Ridge HS. Zikira averaged 17.1 ppg 4.5 rebounds, 3.4 steals and 2.8 assists last season. She enters her senior season with 965 career points.

Henderson grabbed an offer from Brevard College (NC) back in the spring. She ran on a very talented Grassroots team with Upward Stars and Head Coach RJ Booker. Zikira isn’t flashy with her game at all but she’s extremely effective. She understands on how to play and make shots and quality passes along the way.

As the Tigers were one of the teams to beat in last season’s 3A competition, a greater spotlight will be put on Blue Ridge’s star 5-foot-5 guard. Zi was anything but shy about shooting the 3-pointer in her team’s matchup with Hillcrest and impressed with her lockdown defense that led to additional Blue Ridge possessions. Henderson also managed to get out in transition and had no issues with absorbing contact that enabled her to get to the free throw line. She also excelled as a rebounder in addition to her ball handling and distribution skills. She tallied 19 points in the Tigers victory over the 5A Rams. Henderson’s Tigers were crowned champions of the tournament’s North Bracket.

(*PGH Preseason Player of the Year*)rnThe Tigers graduated a number of star seniors from the previous year’s rendition. Among those was Quadaija Langley who is beginning her freshman season at Lander. Henderson translated that stellar season with Blue Ridge into running on the AAU circuit with Upward Stars 2024 3SSB. She is well-known in Palmetto State hoops circles for being an accurate 3-point shooter. Combine that with her rim attacking ability and one has a standout that can throw many a defense off balance as they are unsure as to if she will pass or attack. Henderson stands at 5-foot-4 and can play primarily at either of the guard spots in the backcourt.

Even though it may not have been the end result the Tigers were looking for, Henderson was a major ingredient to coach Alex Smith’s winning formula last season with 3A Blue Ridge. The Tigers won 26 games and made a deep run in the postseason including a game where they gave eventual 3A champion Keenan a major scare. Henderson can throw many a defense off when she has the ball in her hands and drives to the rim as those defenders do not know if she will attack or pass. She will connect in terms of her open shots and has earned a reputation for being a stellar 3-point specialist.
