The second annual Top 20 girls basketball tournament was a high scoring affair that saw the East All Stars win 94-71 over the West All Stars. During the all star game, almost every player had individual moments that showed you exactly why they were at the event.
AAU teammates Jaida Hampton and Lasha Petree led all players with scoring, Hampton with 18 and Petree with a game high 20 points.
In a high octane all star event that would usually be dominated by guards, there was solid play from the post players. Ashley Primas, Maxine Moore and Kayla Luchenbach put together some dazzling highlights and showed that they could do a little bit of everything.
Before the game, I predicted that Camree Clegg could be a favorite for MVP, and she definitely had a performance that had the committee considering her as MVP, 12 points and 12 assists which is a record for the event.
In the end it would be Jessica Bicknell who took home the MVP honors, she had a game high 17 points and started the game out in a dominant way. Bicknell is committed to the University of Detroit, and she ends her career as a State Champion and MVP of the Top 20 All Star game.
