Carroll was up four heading into the fourth quarter, and maintained that lead for much of it; but some late defensive heroics by ADM’s Kristen Baier, Aniston Smith and Delaney Bertman helped to spur an 11-0 run to end the game for No. 14 ADM.
It was sophomore ADM guard Grace Hardcastle who put in the game-tying bucket with 56 ticks left. Then, with 36 seconds left, a steal and a bucket by Delaney gave ADM the lead; one they would not surrender.
Carroll was led by senior Taylor Mohr, who poured in a game-high 20 points. They drop to 4-3 with the loss.
ADM was led by junior guard Abbie Hlas, she was terrific en route to 17 points. Senior Emma Jacobson chipped in with 14 points, and ADM improved to 8-2 with the win.

The Prospects
Abbie Hlas, 5’6 PG, 2020 (ADM)
Currently checking in at No. 70 in Iowa’s 2020 prospect rankings, Hlas certainly made a case for a bump in the next installment. She was best with her passing, throwing precise dimes all over the court tonight. Her defensive instincts are a plus, and led to some steals. And she was flashing an array of offensive moves en route to a team-high 17 points. Hlas was the best player on the floor tonight.
Taylor Mohr, 5’8 G/F, 2019 (Carroll)
Here’s an intriguing prospect from Carroll, with some sweet versatility and some nice length. She’s got a shooter’s touch, and she can get the roll on her mid-range or 3-ball when need be. A combo guard/forward hybrid, she was scoring from all three levels tonight en route to a game-high 20 points.
Ella Collison, 5’8 G, 2021 (Carroll)
The highest ranked PGHIA prospect in this game, Collison checks in at No. 36 in the initial installment of Iowa’s 2021 prospect ranklings. She was red-hot out of the gates, scoring nine first quarter points, and was showing her superior athleticism throughout the game while scoring 16 for Carroll. She’s got the size, the ability and the “it” factor that make her one of the best sophomores in Iowa.
Emma Jacobson, 5’7 SG, 2019 (ADM)
She came into this one with a team-high 18 3s, and it was clear to see why. She hit three first half 3s for ADM, and was seen during halftime warm-ups burying several long ones with regularity. She also showed some slick ball-handling with a nifty behind-the-back move, and was able to score at the rim through contact.
Delaney Bertman, 5’9 G/F, 2020 (ADM)
Shots weren’t dropping for Delaney for most of the game, but her defense and rebounding were still on point, and she was still able to make a big impact. At the end of the game, though, she was crucial, coming up with a massive steal late to help seal the win, and scoring five of her 11 points in the final frame.
Kennedy Lein, 5’9 G, 2021 (Carroll)
She was clearly confident in her ability to shoot it from deep, and she was able to connect on a 3-ball in the third quarter. She’s 43 percent from deep this season, so it’d be wise of her to keep that confidence up, and keep firing away from deep.
Grace Hardcastle, 5’9 G. 2021 (ADM)
She was showing some nice ball-handling when she was able to pull-off a baseline crossover and get to the rim. She knocked down two crucial free-throws in the fourth quarter, when she scored four of her seven points. Just a sophomore, Hardcastle showed some clutch gene tonight.
