Prospect Spotlight: Chloe Lofstrom (2020)
One of the fastest risers in the 2020 class this year has been Chloe Lofstrom. The North Union product is one of the most efficient players in the state, and she is continuing that this AAU season. Running with MN Rise-Martin this summer, she has been catching the eye of a lot of people in Minnesota. Since the last live period Chloe has grabbed four offers and is looking to add more to her collection. Lofstrom is an aggressive player who likes to attack the basket tough and that fits into what a lot of college programs want their bigs to be able to do.
This past high school season with North Union, she scored 22.6 points a game. Along with an absurd 61.9 shooting percentage, Lofstrom cemented herself as one of the top post scorers in the state. She also averaged 12.2 rebounds a game proving herself to be a workhorse. Lofstrom is a coaches dream in the post and she doesn’t try to do anything she can’t. She works on her post moves and footwork while not trying to stretch her game out too much. She’s a brute on the block and coaches are starting to realize that she’s a scholarship level talent. Lofstrom is looking to make herself more versatile, one who can step out and knock down a perimeter shot.
“I thought I improved a lot from my sophomore year,” Lofstrom said. “Getting stronger and attacking the basket harder and finishing with contact against triple teams. I also brought the ball down the court a lot so that helped a lot with my ball handling. This offseason I plan on getting in the gym and working on my 3-pointer to become a more versatile player and become a leader for my teammates to rely on.”
Over the past few weeks she has received offers from Briar Cliff, Grand View, Luther, and Morningside. If she keeps up her play, more coaches are going to start pulling the trigger and offering her. Lofstrom tells me that her favorite thing to do is to spend the summer in a gym. She enjoys playing basketball so AAU season is a ton of fun to her.
Lofstrom has taken a few visits already and will be taking more to figure out exactly where she feels the most comfortable. She is looking to be a teacher in the future and the location of the school does not matter to her. Whoever grabs her commitment will be a very happy program.
