Several of the top teams in the state were in attendance, which created some great games with high-level players. Here are some players that stood out in the class of 2021:
Kate Dennis (IL Elite 17) – A 6’1” Guard from Rockford Guilford, Dennis has great strength and size for her position. She has a great, natural shot from outside and hits at high rate. Also runs the floor well and can finish in traffic.
Grace Hall (Example Sports 17 Wolfpack) – An elite defender in the post, the 6’2” Forward from Homewood Flossmoor is a game changer. Hall uses her size and length to give opponents a tough obstacle to shoot over. She also runs the floor well and finishes strong on the offensive end.
Anna Griffin (Example Sports 17 Wolfpack) – Griffin is a 6’1” Guard/Forward that has really taken her game to a new level within the past year. The Plainfield Central product is strong with the ball, possesses a good shot, and can guard multiple positions on defense using her athleticism.
Greta Kampschroeder (Midwest Elite 17 EYBL) – One of the top players in the 2021 class, Kampschroeder has all the tools of an elite player. The 6’1” athlete can handle and shoot the ball well but showed a dominant post-game this past weekend. Uses her size to get position and moves well to get around defenders or knock down mid-range jumpers.
Tiana Timpe (Midwest Elite 17 EYBL) – A 5’11” Combo Guard from Stockton, Timpe handles the ball well and has great court vision. She has a nice, consistent shooting form and great passing ability to set up teammates. Timpe also uses strength and quickness well to lock down opponents while on defense.
Liv Becker (Midwest Elite 17 Cox) – Becker is a 5’9” Guard from New Trier that shoots it at a high mark from three. She runs the floor well in transition and is a strong finisher at the hoop.
Mary Mcgrath (All In 17 Schoenbeck) – The 6’1” Guard/Forward from Hersey has great size and length for her position. She’s possesses all of the key qualities you want in a Guard, with her ball handling and shooting skills. Can also have success in the post. Very aggressive and under control on defense. Rebounds the ball well.
