Within these recaps I will be listing out the roster that played together the most throughout the season. If a player switched teams midseason I will place them on the roster I felt like they were on the most. Over the next month I will be pushing these articles out once a day until I run out of teams. These stories will be in alphabetical order by program so All Iowa Attack is up first, followed by Beyond Ball, and so on. Up next in the series is the All Iowa Attack National 2021 team.

Ending Thoughts
Macy Gaskill — Gaskill really caught my attention this summer as a very solid point guard. She has been fairly buried on a deep Urbandale roster the last two years in high school, but should be able to get a good amount of floor time this year. Gaskill is a fluid guard who has an innate ability to both score the ball and facilitate it. I really think that she is getting to the point where she can take over the game and might be under-the-radar due to not getting a ton of opportunities.
Ellie Bulman — Bulman had a really good summer and was a top performer that I saw at multiple different events. She’s an athletic wing who can play a few different spots on the floor. Bulman has the ability to score the ball at a really high level in the half court, but runs the floor really well in transition as well. Good feel for the game and has the ability to impact the flow of the game on both ends of the floor at a high level.
Kinsey Jilek — Jilek is a very solid player across the board. She isn’t going to “wow” you with any part of her game but she is just so solid. Jilek can shoot the ball from the outside, score on the inside, and generally doesn’t make mistakes. She has a solid feel for the game and has kept improving the entire summer. Jilek is going to be a key player this upcoming year for Johnston and should start to see a little uptick in interest this upcoming season.
Allison Hart — Hart was a player this summer who showed a lot of potential. She had a ton of flashes of really solid play and I think is getting ready to take a step forward to where those flashes are more consistent. Hart is a very solid post defender with some agility to her game. She is really a solid offensive threat down low with the ability to stretch it out. Hart was a very fun player to watch this year and I can imagine that in the future college coaches will enjoy watching her as well.
Zoey Baylor —Baylor is a small lead guard who proved that she can run an offense this summer. I thought that she had a really solid showing in multiple events this summer. Baylor has shown the ability to score the ball as well as distribute it at a very solid rate. She’s a player who you want on your team because she takes care of the ball so well. She has poise under pressure and the willingness to be aggressive with the ball.
Natalie Kahre —This summer was one where Kahre played really well. While she might not have shown up in the stat sheet every game, Kahre always seemed to make the right decision with the ball. She has the ability to get to the rim and score over length and has great body control when getting to the rim. Kahre is tough as nails and you can expect her to be in the middle of every loose ball.
Kayla Frickenstein — Frickenstein had one of the best performances that I’ve seen this summer when I saw her drop about 20 points in April. She has a very good looking jumper and has the ability to make plays happen with the ball in her hands. She’s a quick guard with the ability to create separation on her own to get to her shot. Frickenstein has the ability to really turn it on offensively.
Madison Naig — Early on in the summer, I thought that Naig was being a little passive but once she started to get more comfortable she started to play a lot better around the rim. She’s a skilled player who has a very solid motor on the floor. Naig prides herself at working really hard on the floor and that tends to rub off onto other players around her. I am expecting a very solid junior year for Naig.
Betula Messerly —Messerly showed some good things this summer that I think she can really build on going forward. She has good ball-handling ability and passes the ball really well. She has made big strides from the beginning of the summer on the offensive end. Defensively she is continuing to get better as her quickness improves. She should see a little uptick in playing time this winter with key graduations.
