Red’s Super 64 Showcase (Part 1): Top Perimeter Performances

East Tampa Youth Basketball Association (ETYBA) teamed up with Red's Team Sports to bring the Seventh Annual invitation-only Red's Team Sports Super 64 Showcase held at Florida Southern College in Lakeland. This event had a ton of talent from the Tampa Bay and Orlando area's, and even a good amount that came from further distances. Everyone involved in this event did an amazing job which was easy to spot from how organized everything was from the start at this beautiful location. At least twenty-five colleges and universities were in attendance to watch some of these guards perform:   Brooke Bogatz '20 (5-4) from Park Vista was the Showcase's first player of the game as she rightfully earned. Brooke is a very smooth operator on each end of the court. She will get in your face on defense and pick your pocket with her quickness. On offense, she has a silky stroke but she's also got the handles to drive right past you to create an easy bucket for herself or her teammates. She can do it all.         Erin Leigh '20 (5-7) from Bloomingdale was another solid all-around player at Red's. Her rebounding was especially impressive from the guard position. Erin is a high IQ player who took care of the ball and scored at will. She's got a great mid-range jumper with some effective ball handling that makes her difficult to maintain.           Christine Van Marter '20 (5-5) from Osceola had terrific court vision as she had multiple lengthy passes that cut the defense like butter. She was a very unselfish player that made her teammates look that much better. Christine was very fun to watch as a hardnosed defender too. She's a point guard in the truest definition of the term.   Megan Watson '20 (5-8) from Strawberry Crest put on a scoring clinic in her games. It felt like she was hitting every single shot she took from 15 feet and in. She used the glass beautifully and has a nice vertical. Megan played hard and was all over the court to snag as many boards and steals as possible.   Jourdan Avery '20 (5-7) from Timber Creek pushed the ball with ease using her length and speed to get up and down the floor. She finished strong at the rim, and locked down everyone she guarded. Jourdan is a fun one to watch as she plays tough and physical, and doesn't back down one bit. She's a certified ankle breaker, so be careful trying to D her up.   Brionna McClinton '21 (5-8) from Brooks DeBartolo showed out as a player who doesn't really fit in at any one position. She scored at all 3 levels, and could guard any position with her length. Brionna attacked the glass, and was one of the best players at the Showcase.         Jahnae Midget '21 (5-11) from Seminole Ridge has nice strength and size at her position. However, she can play any position as she finished strong around the rim by adjusting her shot against taller defenders. Jahnae can step outside and hit the jumper too. A ton of potential here.   Taylor Gardner '21 (5-6) from Creekside has a terrific ability to drive and create a shot for herself or an easy bucket for her teammates. She played great on the defensive end and made smart decisions when she had the ball in her hands. Taylor was a strong finisher around the basket too.   Katie Ambrose '22 (5-5) from Gulf Coast is nicknamed "Spark Plug" for a very good reason. She is a high motor player who is all over the place, but always in control. Katie makes her teammates look good with her court vision, and she can really score the ball. She's a lot of fun to watch compete.   A few other guards that had good showings were Isabella Prada '21 of Bishop McLaughlin, Keegan Brace '21 of Lake Howell, and Jaela Davis '22 of Brooks DeBartolo.
