Transferring to Lutheran North as a junior, she helped lead her Lions squad to their first state championship game and although they came up just short, they were in it. Her skills were on full display at the Girls Texas Jamboree
Victoria NoackLutheran North Takeaways
Waddell and Jaelyn Compton had been providing most of the offense for the Lions every time I caught them last season, Waddell’s pull-up in transition as well as blowing by defenders with an explosive first step have both improved but the thing with her is that she’s always trying to add something. Compton is a scorer, she finds ways to put the ball in the basket and she can attack powerfully or sink the mid to long-range consistently. Victoria Noack got the team nod for MVP as she showed a variety of ways to create her shot under pressure and speaking of pressure, she nailed some big ones. Kinsie Kim was another pleasant surprise and I’ll be catching them again soon
High scorers were Victoria Noack 16, Jacelyn Compton 14, Geonna Waddell 14, Kinsie Kim 12
Ajailah OgiemwonyiJohn Cooper Takeaways
Katelyn Wood, Aalyssa Rogers, and Jorynn Ross all impressed me at the Lady Broncos Classic a couple of weeks ago. Yes Wood can nail the mid to long-range consistently , yes Rogers uses her powerful body to be an “and one waiting to happen” and Ross, well she showed even more with the huge “drop step” for and ones so as usual, I was accurate and fair about my assessment because one more time, I’m an EVALUATOR of talent, that’s an accurate statement as well but
simply went off and was named team MVP. She’s athletic and attacks strongly and finishes powerfully, nice moves on the inside, handles the ball under pressure but get this, she out rebounds taller opponents on both ends, consistently and brings the heat on defense
High scorers were Ajailah Ogiemwonyi 18, Jorynn Ross 14, Kaetlyn Wood 10
Cooper wins 63-62
