It will be a good time to watch out for them over this summer and entering their junior year. These girls have stood out on the basketball court and helped achieve victory for their team in multiple games.
Here are four players from the 2022 class that should develop and raise their prospect rankings to begin the season next year:
Jeni Levine finishes high over the defender.Jeni Levine – Guard – Staunton River
Levine is a very skilled guard that plays with constant effort throughout the game. Her relentless attack on offense puts a great amount of pressure on any defense. She pushes the ball on just about every possession to find her way to the basketball. Once she has possession of the ball, she is able to finish strong with either hand. Levine can use her court vision to find her teammates when opponents key in on her. She is also a great 3 pointer shooter. She has led her team in scoring in numerous games. For example in her last game, she finished with 27 points consisting of five 3 pointers. Levine has helped lead her team to an 11-4 record going into the remainder of the season.
Emilie McCaskill – Guard – William Byrd
McCaskill is a 5’8″ guard who has great basketball IQ. Her defensive ability along with being able to play the passing lanes gives her and her teammate’s easy buckets in transition. She knows where to be to create the opportunity to get deflections with her hands and hold her defense position to get one on one steals. While McCaskill gets most of her points off of steals in transitions, she can also shoot the ball, scoring 28 points in a game with 2 three-pointers.
Shelby Fiddler letting it fly against Lord Botetourt.Shelby Fiddler – Guard – Patrick Henry (Roanoke)
Fiddler is a sharpshooter who can knock down the 3 with great consistency. She plays with great intensity and has a very high basketball IQ. Her IQ and her vision of the court allows her to make successful basketball plays throughout the season. To illustrate how well she plays, note she has a game on her record where she scored 23 points with 7 three-pointers. She has a tremendous work ethic and plays all year round. Fiddler has already drawn attention from college scouts, as she has a D1 offer from Sacramento State.
Ally Fleenor – Forward – Pulaski County
Fleenor is a 6’0″ forward who can play inside and out. Her toughness on the boards and aggressive post moves puts other teams in difficult situations while on the court. Fleenor plays very hard and uses her court vision to find open players when she gets doubled. After coming off of an injury at the beginning of the season, Fleenor was able to put up some big games. In one of her games, she scored 22 points with 14 rebounds. She also had 2 games with 17 points and 10 rebounds.
