A’Shauna Robinson
Robinson is a freshmen guard from Greensboro Day in Greensboro, NC. Robinson isn’t starting for the team yet but she is a strong contributor. When she enters the game she brings confidence and quality play. When she touches the ball good things happen. Robinson can handle the ball and make plays for others. I like her on the defensive end as well. She has quick hands and feet. She likes to get after it and seems to enjoy playing defense. She is very productive with her time when she is on the floor and given a bigger role next season I believe that she will be a breakout player.
Ryan-Olivia Swilling
Ryan-Olivia Swilling is a sophomore guard for Charlotte Christian in Charlotte, NC. Swilling is on the verge of being a problem for defenders if not already. She can handle the ball under pressure and has developed a strong hesitation off the dribble move that creates separation from the defender as she drives to the basket. Swilling can also shoot the 3 ball in the face of a defender. If you give her a little space, she will let it go. She has no fear and in anything, that’s half the battle. Her skills are developing so when you match the two, you have a good player on your hands. I look for Swilling to get stronger physically by next season which will help her overall game. Look for her to take a major step next year and break out!
Zoey Henderson
Henderson is a freshmen wing for North Mecklenburg High School in Huntersville, NC. Henderson will be really good, soon! I like that Henderson doesn’t rush anything. She lets the game come to her. She picks her spots to make plays and usually those plays are huge. She has a knack of being in the middle of a run. She is either scoring the ball, hustling to make a play or passing it to an open player. She can hit the mid-range shot and doesn’t appear afraid of big moments. I’ve seen her come through time and time again for North Meck. As she develops her game and becomes more of the focal point, I believe she will shine and carry the load. The game looks easy for Henderson. She has a special feel for the game in my opinion. I look forward to seeing her progress and break out next year.
Jordyn Latter
Latter is a freshmen guard for Providence Day in Charlotte, NC. Latter is a good player. You can see glimpses of promise. She is a hard-nosed player. I’ve seen her defend good players and have success! She moves her feet well, anticipates moves, has quick hands and likes playing defense. On offense she can get to the basket off the dribble by slashing and using angles. She always seems a part of a fast break, either leading or finishing. She was a key element to her championship team as she came off the bench to offer a spark or just keeping things stable. As a few seniors this graduate from her team this year, I can see Latter developing a bigger role and next year have a break out season .
