Three Stars

Shapleigh is the full-on leader of this team and it is evident from the outset of the game. She leads the offense with her eyes up the court, dribbling deftly around defenders and finding her teammates with timely passes. She drives the lane with abandon allowing her to reach the line numerous times where she shot 7-for-9 for the game. Add in her three three-pointers and it is clear to see why Shapleigh is the leader of the team in almost every way.

Most of the time that Shapleigh drove the lane, she was able to find Camp with a dish under the basket. Camp is a true post player who scored all of her points inside. She finishes strong at the rim and uses either hand. The 6-0 senior uses her size well and is a force to be reckoned with both offensively and defensively. She guarded the other team’s star for most of the game and held her to only four points inside.

Camp spent most of her time covering Williams and was able to prevent her from scoring at the basket for most of the game. Williams has a nice jumper that she used in the center of the lane at the weak spot of Regent Prep’s zone defense. She fights hard for the ball and is a pretty tenacious defender when called upon. As the time wained in Metro Christian’s defeat, Williams showed why she is a nominee for Ms. Outside in the Tulsa area. Her four three-pointers were the number one reason that the Patriots only lost by seven.
