The Creighton bound senior has grown up over the years at Lloyd Noble Center. She went from a sophomore with nerves in an intense overtime State Championship game to the passionate heart of North’s attempt to win a third straight. Heathcock continues to play with her hair on fire with defense, while also hitting big time shots. She closed out the game in the fourth, stamping out any hope of a Memorial comeback, with big free throws and a huge transition score. She had a team high 15 points for the Lady Huskies.

The senior wing was a key part of back to back Class 6A State Championship teams, primarily as a “3 an D” type prospect. The strides she has taken as an all player this year has been remarkable. Edmond North raced out to a 6-0 lead, with Heathcock as the spearhead of their aggressive defensive. She helped forced turnovers that led to easy run out points. But her attacking of the rim wasn’t just limited to transition points, her handle has improved as a senior. With a killer crossover and in and out moves that have taken her ability as a driver to the next level.
It’ll be a challenge for the Lady Huskies to climb the mountain for a third straight year, but the dynamic all around play of Heathcock will give them a chance to do that next week in Norman.

Another top senior in Oklahoma was on the court on Saturday night and it was pretty obvious from the outset where PC West’s defense was focused. Not only was it focused on Allison, it was focused on disrupting her game with physicality and seems to have worked as she uncharacteristically missed five of seven free throws and left the game looking as if she had just crawled out of the briar patch. It was still clear to see when Allison got it going, especially in the Huskies’ big second half, why she is a top player in the state and heading to Division-I Creighton next season. Her shot is a thing of beauty and she is an incredibly hard worker on both ends of the court. Her length is almost unmatched and she is the player that head coach Pete Papahronis clear trusts in every important situation.

Another player whose stock really rose over the last year or so, Allison recently committed to the Creighton Bluejays of the Big East. Previously ranked as low as No. 12, she was initially thought to be a Division-II prospect. As her pure scoring ability began to catch up with her shooting and defensive abilities, the higher level offers began to come in and she was awash in D-I interest. In the end, she chose the Nebraska school and looks to be a great fit for Head Coach Jim Flanery’s perennial March Madness participating squad. Heathcock is a do it all player who is going to do very big things at the next level.

Allison is a long guard that stretches the floor and shoots the basketball at a high-level. She is a ready shooter and if you let her get her feet set, she will knock it down from deep and in the midrange. Defensively she uses her length to pressure the ball and get deflections, steals, and rebounds. She is a willing passer and plays the game smart and under control. I would consider Allison one of the top shooters in the state of Oklahoma, due to her consistency throughout last year’s season and the production she contributed this summer on the PGH circuit. She is a big contributor to the success of Edmond North and helped them win a state championship as a sophomore. This year she has been working on expanding her game by putting the ball on the floor and getting to the basket more. She caught the eye of Division 1 colleges and has committed to attend Creighton University in the fall of 2024.
