Look for their names to enter the statewide rankings over the next year, but for all of the college coaches these are names you really need to get familiar with now before it’s too late.
- Zoey Ward – 6’0” – Wing – Ashbrook High School – Being the primary scorer at a young age is sometimes a burden to players, Zoey is a smooth scorer that can operate at all 3 levels of play. During her sophomore year Zoey averaged 15.3 Points – 7.3 Rebounds – 2.3 Steals for an Ashbrook team that went 12 – 0 in Conference and 21 – 5 overall including a trip to the NCHSAA 2nd Round of the 3A playoffs.Players that can shoot the ball with the range & consistency of Zoey are not usually able to operate on the block or elbow with the same efficiency, but this girl can score it from anywhere on the court.
- Ruby Williams – 6’0” – Wing – Cuthbertson High School – Long arms and legs with an advanced ball handling ability makes Ruby a matchup nightmare on the court. Playing for a team that has been to the State Championship her freshman year & the State Final four her sophomore year brings a lot of expectations but she plays like there is none. Ruby averaged 6.8 Points – 2.7 Rebounds – 2.3 Assists – 1.3 Steals during her sophomore year and those numbers will go up with her team graduating 5 Seniors.
- Maleigha Jackson – 6’1’ – Forward – Phillip O Berry High School – Skilled forward with the ability to score on the block consistently and has developed a midrange game that can dominate players at this level. Due to injuries was only available for 6 Games this season but averaged 5.3 Points – 4.5 Rebounds, A strong summer on the AAU/Club circuit and continued skill development to improve her range will make her a nice Division 1 Prospect, Berry will be looking for her to contribute more on the court next year.
- Tamia Morris – 5’5” – Guard – E.E. Smith High School – Floor leader that can shoot the ball with consistency from beyond the 3Pt line, lockdown perimeter defender that has led her team to a 2019 NCHSAA State Final Four & 2020 Championship Game appearance under her leadership. Tamia averaged 7.2 Points – 2.1 Assists – 2.8 Steals during her sophomore year, she came up big with a 16 Pt, 3 Ast performance in the Final Four game in 2020.
