Chupp was an efficient force for Arbor Prep, stepping up when needed this season.
Evie Doezema Evie Doezema 6'2" | C Grand Rapids Christian | 2022 State MI (C, Grand Rapids Christian)
From the opening tip of the season, Doezema showed off her talent. She was a top notch post on the west side of the state.
Gabrielle Lutchka Gabrielle Lutchka SF Grass Lake | 2022 State MI (SF, Grass Lake)
Lutchka blew me away with her scoring ability this year. She’ll be jumping up the prospect rankings.
Taylor Thompson Taylor Thompson SF Grand Blanc | 2022 State MI (SF, Grand Blanc)
Thompson was quietly working on her craft last grassroots season. Her hard work paid off this year.
Alaila Walker Alaila Walker 5'7" | CG Kalamazoo Central | 2022 State MI (CG, Kalamazoo Central)
Walker really stepped up her game and showed out in the absence of Morasha Wiggins Morasha Wiggins 6'0" | SF Kalamazoo Central | 2021 State #42 Nation MI . Look out when these 2 are together again.
Allie Walther Allie Walther SG Schoolcraft | 2022 State MI (SG, Schoolcraft)
I had heard about how much she improved with Strictly Skills over the summer. It was all true, as she excelled this season.
Navaeh Williams (CG, Mt. Pleasant)
I knew she was good, but Williams absolutely lit up the scoreboard.
BREAKOUT PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Kayla Giroux Kayla Giroux PF Flat Rock | 2022 State MI (PF, Flat Rock)
I’ll be honest, I knew her name, but not much about her game. Giroux made sure that scouts heard her name and heard it often this season. So much so that I changed plans in order to see her play this season. She was a double-double machine with points and rebounds this season for Flat Rock. Giroux scores in a variety of ways and battles on the glass.
