Although the season was curtailed and State Championships were not able to be finished, we got enough of an idea to see the talent in the future senior class. Addison Wedin Addison Wedin 5'11" | PG La Salle | 2021 State OR and Audrey Roden Audrey Roden 5'9" | SG West Linn | 2021 State OR are the respective engines of their teams, bringing a lot of skill and discipline to La Salle and West Linn. Sydney Burns Sydney Burns 5'8" | PG Wilsonville | 2021 State OR and Emilia Bishop Emilia Bishop 6'1" | PF Wilsonville | 2021 State OR would be amazing players to start a team with, but the fact that they both suited up for the Wilsonville Wildcats made them one of the best tandems in the entire State. One can see that the top five of the 2021 players are top loaded with talent, as even past these dominant players there are players with lots of skill all across Oregon. Without further ado, here are the top players of the next senior class.
Aaronette Vonleh Aaronette Vonleh 6'3" | C West Linn | 2021 State #76 Nation OR 2021 6’3″ C (West Linn HS) – The 6’3” post had another dominating year as she won Player of the Year in the Three Rivers League. Vonleh’s biggest attribute that jumps out is her size, which helps her out both on the offensive and defensive ends. On offense, she is nearly impossible to stop when she gets the ball deep in the post, scoring with ease. On the defensive end, it allows her to be a force, blocking shots with authority, and clogging up the middle. Vonleh rebounds at a high-rate, seemingly without jumping, illustrating her authoritative presence on the court. This entire package was a huge part of West Linn’s success this season and she returns next year as a part one of the best rosters in the entire State.
Addison Wedin Addison Wedin 5'11" | PG La Salle | 2021 State OR 2021 5’11″ PG (La Salle HS) – The sleek, versatile, athletic guard for La Salle had an incredible season, capped off by a 43 point outburst in the opening round of the 5A State Playoffs over Ashland. Wedin can score the ball at a high-rate, and at all three levels. She releases with a repetitive, nice motion and has a variety of ways to finish at the basket. The icing on the cake as far as her arsenal goes is her ball handling skills, which are top notch and allow her to be a threat on all angles of the court. Wedin’s decision making is also a layer of her game, as she is the engine of the Falcons team that was set to play Wilsonville in the 5A State Playoffs, a rivalry that had been back and forth all season long.
Audrey Roden Audrey Roden 5'9" | SG West Linn | 2021 State OR 2021 5’9″ SG (West Linn HS) – Roden, teammate of Vonleh, was the high velocity piston that engaged the West Linn Lions all season long. She plays with an extremely high motor, as her team depends on her to be on her toes all game long. Roden has an authentic feel for the game, making the right play at the right time. Capped with elite athleticism, she is light on her feet and finds ways to finish the play, whether that leads to a basket, rebound, or assist. The recent Nevada commit finds the seams on the ball, so to speak, and was the spark that the Lions needed throughout the season.
Sydney Burns Sydney Burns 5'8" | PG Wilsonville | 2021 State OR 2021 5’8″ PG (Wilsonville HS) – Burns is a dynamic guard that plays at a high tempo and works efficiently as a scorer with a lot of energy. Wilsonville’s top guard was relied upon to lead and jump-start the offense. She has a wide range of offensive skills, as she is a crafty finisher inside the paint and can shoot it at a good rate as well. Sydney has bounce and quickness to her game, which is topped off by her quick decision making skills. Whereas Bishop is the anchor for the Wildcats, Burns is the main cog that allows the show to get going.
Emilia Bishop Emilia Bishop 6'1" | PF Wilsonville | 2021 State OR 2021 6’1″ PF (Wilsonvile HS) – (Pictured) The tall, lengthy post for Wilsonville is a unique player that impacts the game, often stuffing up the stat sheet in the process. The initial thought upon first glance is her size, which translates into several faucets for Bishop. She rebounds at an excellent rate and outlets the ball up the court, initiating the offensive instantly. She can also take the ball up the court, with agile ball handling skills for someone of her height. In the post, she can either finish it herself through her strength or find someone in the lane for an easy score.
