The crop of top shooting guards is dotted with terrific perimeter shooters. In this article we take a look at the top ten 2021 shooting guards as we head into a summer season where kids, parents, club coaches, and recruiters are going stir crazy to get into the gym. #6 [player_tooltip player_id="91874" first="Grace" last="Pyle"], McPherson, 5’10" -- Pyle led McPherson in scoring, rebounding, assists, steals and blocks. Making all-tournament of the 2020 Mid America Classic, McPherson Coach Strathman commented in a February 20 tweet "25 Mid America Classics and [Pyle] became the FIRST to ever place in the Top 10 in all EIGHT statistical categories. #2 Pts, Rebs, Blks, Asts, FG%, #6 in Stls, 3FG%, and #9 in FT%." Pyle has a strong all-around game whose presence on the floor elevates the play of her teammates. She can score off the dribble and on the perimeter, handle the ball well in transition and against pressure, and distribute in the half court. Pyle is a very good weakside rebounder and plays four positions for the Bullpups. Pyle was selected as the 2020 5A Player of the Year by Sports In Kansas and Kansas Basketball Coaches Association (KBCA) 5A first team after being selected to the second team in 2019. She is also AVCTL Div III 2020 MVP averaging 15.9 points per game and was selected to 2019 Sports In Kansas 5A state tournament team. Pyle holds several offers including from Wichita State University and UT-Rio Grande Valley. She shot 51% from the field, 71% from the foul line, and shot 35% from three with 73 made. In 2019 set the state record for scoring in a 3A state tournament game with 38 including 4/9 from three while also gathering 8 steals, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists. In 2019 she averaged 18.1 points, shot 33% from three, 4.1 rebounds, and 3.6 steals. Scheer is a quick defender with good off-ball anticipation, dishes and finishes well off dribble drive. She is also very fast with the ball in transition. While she has a slight build Scheer has good length and an excellent vertical on her jumper. Scheer is the two time 2020 Sports in Kansas 3A Player of the Year and is the 2020 Wichita Eagle 3A Player of the Year. She is also a two time KBCA 3A first team and Central Plains League first team selection. Sheer is committed to Emporia State University. #20 [player_tooltip player_id="123496" first="Lauryn" last="Dubbert"], St. John’s/Tipton, 5’7" -- Dubbert averaged <span data-sheets-value="{"1":2,"2":"2020 KBCA 1A first team, KBCA 1A third team in 2019. 2020 Northern Plains League first team.
