This is our third look at some of the athletes that were impact players in their first high school season.
Paris Bass (F, Wayne Memorial)
Bass is a versatile new age combo forward. She can play in the paint or on the perimeter on both ends. Bass is a sneaky good ball handler as well.
Emily Grulke (SF, Lutheran Northwest)
Grulke displayed a lot of talent and a high ceiling this season. She has a nice mid range game featuring a balanced floater. Grulke is an aggressive and creative finisher at the rim.
Sydney Hendrix (G, West Bloomfield)
Hendrix is an elite perimeter talent in the class of 2023. She’s an excellent passer in transition with pin point accuracy. Hendrix can break a defender down off the dribble with a quick first step.
Samiyah Jefferson (PG, Wayne Memorial)
Jefferson is a tough and hard nosed freshman. She plays defense the entire length of the floor. Jefferson has 3 point range on her jumper and is a creative passer.
Isabel Lindo (G, Williamston)
Lindo will be giving opposing coaches fits for the next 3 years. She’s a knockdown shooter that isn’t afraid of the big shot. She moves well without the ball, allowing for more open looks.
Kelsey McLennan (C, Linden)
McLennan will be a menace in the paint for the next few years. She’s a very good all around athlete which shows in her basketball game. McLennan has good footwork on both ends.
Kristina Peach (PG, Whitmore Lake)
Peach is an electrifying freshman guard. She can score, and score in bunches. Peach averaged just under 20 ppg and won the MIAC Player of the Year.
