There are a handful of of 2023 players in the area who made this list. They all play for great high school teams which all have great upperclassmen for them to follow behind.
Reagan Iovino: Reagan is a 5’3 combo guard from Cuthbertson high school. Do not let her size get to you! She knocked down 80 3’s in 28 games played this season (43% from the floor). She can catch fire, because in a 3 game stretch this season she went: 6 for 9, 5 for 9, 6 for 10…oh and in 1 of those games she did it in 11 minutes played! She was selected to the “Talking Preps All-Freshman” team at the end of the season. She plays AAU for the Lady Attack organization.
Ally Hollifield: Ally is a 5’7 combo guard from Shelby high school (younger sister to 2022 3 point shooter you should know Kate Hollifield Kate Hollifield 5'9" | CG Shelby | 2022 State NC ). On the season she hit 54 3’s in 24 games played (34% from the floor). She is a pesky defender as well, averaging 4 steals a game. She had a double double this season with 24 points and 13 steals, both of which were season highs. She plays AAU for the Carolina Flames organization.
Mia Xerras Mia Xerras 5'6" | CG Myers Park | 2023 State NC : Mia is a 5’6 point guard from Myers Park high school. She hit 51 3’s in 27 games played (54% from the floor). There were 6 games this season she shoot 100% from downtown, in a 3 game stretch of that she went: 4 for 4, 2 for 2, 5 for 5. She shoots at such a high percentage because she has a high IQ and knows when to shoot her shot. Being a point guard her first look is for her teammates she averages 2.6 assists on the season as well. She plays AAU for the Team Curry organization.
Kyla Bryant: Kyla is a 5’8 point guard from Salisbury high school (a final 4 team in the 2A state playoffs this season). Much of that reason is because of Kyla. She knocked down 41 3’s in 30 games played (42% from the floor). She has great size, and knows how to use it. She fills up the stat sheet with more than just her shooting. She rebounds well, great court vision, and another pesky defender. She plays AAU for the Team Felton organization.
Laila Hankerson: Laila is a 5’4 shooting guard from Charlotte Country Day School. She hit 35 3’s in 28 games played (35% from the floor). She hit 3 or more 3’s 5 different times this season. She scored 20+ points 7 times this season, with a season high 30 in the 2nd to last game of the season. She has tremendous upside with plenty of time to keep getting better. She plays AAU for the Carolina Flames organization.
Olivia Boyce: Olivia is a 5’6 shooting guard from Carmel Christian high school. She knocked down 33 3’s in 19 games played (39% from the floor). Twice this season she scored 32 points combining for 6 for 9 from deep in those games. She plays AAU for the Lady Attack organization.
Samyah Suffern: Samyah is a 5’7 point guard from Mallard Creek high school. She knocked down 32 3’s in 28 games played (49% from the floor). She is a streaky shooter, but has plenty of time left in her high school career to become a consistent threat from downtown.
