Southern Wayne CG Ty’lisha Maye
Maye is a pesk defensively — both in the passing lanes and on ball. Maye was the primary ball handler for Southern Wayne, but did play off the ball some. As a lefty, she has deep range and she isn’t afraid to penetrate into the lane. She could benefit from the structure of a college offense.
Southern Wayne SG Aleesha Boyette
Coming off of a torn ACL and having transferred from Goldsboro, Boyette stepped in and led the Saints in scoring. Boyette has range out to 30 feet and is very crafty when she puts the ball on the floor. She has a good frame to take contact and finish through the bump. She’s an active defender who has no problem scrapping for the ball.
Goldsboro PG Mary Archibald
On a team not littered with experience, Archibald stepped in and led the team. She never stopped competing despite the score. She shows great grit and awareness at the point guard spot. I believe in a college weight training program, her shooting will improve as she puts weight on to add to her mechanically sound jump shot. She has no problem getting into the lane or defending. She also plays softball and is a high academic prospect.
Spring Creek SG Mikiya Hobbs
Hobbs had a solid season and could be an interesting prospect for junior colleges. She’s very good at penetrating and finishing. She has a good frame and length. She’s solid defensively.
C.B. Aycock CG Kaitlyn Smith
Smith is a good shooter and defender. She did her job for the Falcons and could be a solid prospect for JUCOs.
