Here are the sophomores you should make yourself more familiar with:
Madison Saunders: A 5’7 shooting guard from Lake Norman high school. Madison was selected to the all-conference team much to do with being a consistent 3 point shooter (which we have already pegged her as), but she also has good court vision with a high IQ. She can read defenses and pass over top of them, or she gets herself open in the holes of zones. She rebounds well for a guard grabbing almost 4 a game. She is long and aggressive on defense, but still has room to get better here. Madison has a high ceiling and 2 more years to keep getting better.
Trinity Moreland Trinity Moreland 6'2" | C Julian Chambers | 2022 NC : A 6’2 center from Vance high school. She is a co-state champion this season, and much like her older sister in the 2021 class, Trinity is a handful down low. She can take a hit and finish through contact. She uses her size and build to get the position she wants, where she has nice touch around the rim. She is a good shot blocker, she stays straight up with not a lot of swinging down, or trying to swat shots. With 2 more years she can continue to get into better shape, and stronger making her a nice prospect in the future. She plays AAU for the Team Curry organization.
Halle Chaffin: A 5’10 small forward from West Charlotte high school. As just a sophomore Halle was a team captain. She has improved in every stat since her freshman season. She lead her team in double doubles this season with 6. She rebounds well on both ends of the floor, and defensively can guard on the perimeter and in the post. I think with more time her defense will only get better, and she will become a better post defender. She is not a 3 point shooter, she is more of a slasher, and gets to the free throw line…so more of an old fashioned 3 point player! She has plenty of time to keep developing and getting better, she is someone to keep an eye on.
Taylor Dunn: A 5’5 shooting guard from North Meck high school. Taylor is a hustle player with a high motor! She is all over the court on both ends of the floor. She is not the most consistent 3 point shooter yet, but she can shoot it. She can get to the rim and she can shoot the mid range pull up. She is a feisty defender who is not scared to back down, she plays much bigger than 5’5. She is tough, and is someone to watch the next 2 years.
Layla Wall: A 5’3 point guard from Hopewell high school. Layla is another tough, plays bigger than her actual size guard. She has a good feel for the game, and sees the floor and knows how to get her teammates the ball. Defensively she makes plays, and again for her size, rebounds well on the defensive end.
