Ryan Swilling: The 5’8 guard from Charlotte Christian high school is a hard-nosed, lefty, that locks down on defense. She has good size and athleticism and knows how to use it. She sits down and moves her feet on defense, is not afraid to get on the floor, and is scrappy trying to go get the basketball all means necessary. She is a lefty shooter…meaning she has that funky left handed form! With that said, she can already knock down from the college range. With more work in the next 2 seasons to become even more consistent, between her defensive efforts and that range, we will see her on someone’s college roster. She plays AAU for the NC Team Loaded organization.
Hudson Rixham: The 5’11 small forward from Charlotte Country Day is another left handed, long, crafty player. This kid has the potential to be very good if she keeps developing! She has the size, the IQ, and the want to rebound. She can step out and knock down the 3 ball, she can drive it and score in the paint with contact, she can post up smaller defenders and finish. She has the skill set to get a steal or defensive rebound and push it herself in transition. She can make plays for her teammates, she had more assists than turnovers on the season. She has tremendous upside. She plays AAU for Team Legacy organization.
Caroline Cady: The 5’11 small forward from Covenant Day School is yet another left handed, long player. She is not a consistent enough 3 point shooter, yet. She has time to become more deadly from deep. What she is good at already is playing hard. She is another one who is first to the floor, and tough when playing defense. She is a good rebounder, just coming up shy on 3 double-double’s this season. Another player with upside, that has a good chance at next level play.
Mary Schleusner: The 6’0 power forward from Charlotte Latin high school has a good defensive presence in the paint, and can finish around the rim. In the paint she grabs all the rebounds that come her way, and she blocks, alters, and changes shots. She plays with her hands straight up making her look closer to 6’2 while in the paint. She recorded her first career double-double this season, and then followed it with 3 more. Another bright future ahead of us to keep track of.
Mary Holland Waters: The 5’9 shooting guard from Charlotte Country Day had a bit of a sophomore slump this year. Her numbers were better as a freshman, but that just proves that she has the potential to be an impact player. She shoots it well from deep, it was halfway through the season where she started finding her groove again. For a shooting guard she has very good size and uses it well, as she is comfortable driving to the rim as well. She is a hustle player on defense, again another one who does not mind hitting the floor or doing the dirty work. She plays AAU for the Team Legacy organization.
Rachel Noonan: The 5’11 small forward from Charlotte Christian high school marks another long, crafty, lefty in this class! Again, she has tremendous upside with her size and abilities. She does not shoot the 3 ball, but she can score from mid-range and in the paint. Where she excels is rebounding. She had 7 games this season with double-digit rebounds. She also has the skill set to be able to grab a defensive rebound, or steal, and take it all the way to the house for 2. She has no problem finishing through contact either. Yet another 2022 to keep your eyes on.
