Kaya Goldsby – Jack Britt – Point Guard – 2022
The Lady Buccaneers went undefeated in the SAC at 14-0 behind their backcourt combination of Nyla Cooper (Howard) and Goldsby. Goldsby put up 11.2 points, 5.0 steals, 3.3 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game in 2019-20. She’s a speedy 5-foot-7 guard that’s hard to stop on both ends with her relentless play. She put up a season-best 15 steals against Hoke County last season. She’ll be a floor general to track this upcoming season.
Ashara Hayes – Jack Britt – Wing/Forward – 2021
Ashara Hayes is another prospect in the Jack Britt rotation to keep an eye on. Her rebounding is an underrated asset she holds in her arsenal. She snagged 6.6 rebounds per game and saw some of her double-figure performances come during the second half of the season. She also put up 9.1 points, 1.8 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.1 blocks per game in 2019-20. She’s a versatile threat in the rotation with her size at 6-foot.
Amore’ Kirkland Amore’ Kirkland 5'5" | CG Seventy First High | 2022 – Seventy-First – Guard – 2022
The Lady Falcons finished 10-4 in the SAC in 2019-20 and return their top play-making guard in Amore’ Kirkland Amore’ Kirkland 5'5" | CG Seventy First High | 2022 . She dished out 9.7 assists per game to go along with 11.2 points and 2.2 steals per game for Seventy-First and returns as their leading scorer and assist-maker. She’s a pass-first point guard at 5-foot-5 that put together double-figure assist games in 13 of her 27 appearances as a sophomore. She’ll look to dethrone Jack Britt with another 2022 prospect alongside her in the back court.
Ayanna Williams – Seventy-First – Wing/Forward – 2022
Ayanna Williams returns as the Lady Falcons’ second-leading scorer and top rebounder from a season ago. She produced 10.9 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game in 2019-20 as another back court threat for Seventy-First. She’s got a big guard frame at 5-foot-8 that she uses well to battle inside and out on both ends.
Kylie Chavis – Purnell Swett – Guard/Wing – 2023
Kylie Chavis is already looking to return as the “best” player in the SAC, at least by voting standards from coaches and media. She was last year’s SAC Player of the Year despite being just a freshman. She’s got a ton of talent in her wheelhouse already after putting up 17.0 points, 8.1 rebounds, 4.4 steals and 3.4 rebounds per game for Purnell Swett this past season. She’ll be a young 5-foot-7 guard due for a strong sophomore campaign.
Natalie Evington – Purnell Swett – Point Guard – 2023
Natalie Evington is another back court prospect for Purnell Swett that goes as Chavis does. She produced 10.3 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game in 2019-20 for the Lady Rams. She’s a volume shooter, especially from 3-point range and made 44 as a freshman.
Jayla McDougald – Richmond Senior – Guard – 2021
Jayla McDougald is an emerging guard at Richmond Senior that returns after earning All-SAC honors in 2019-20. She put up 10.4 points per game and finished with a season-best 25 points points in a victory against Lumberton back in February. She’s an emerging guard to keep an eye on in the 2021 class in the SAC.
