Garden City GameBall Basketball Camp Player Reviews : A to G

GameBall Basketball hosted an afternoon basketball camp at the YMCA Dome in Garden City, Kansas, on June 17.  Several college and high school coaches attended and ran drills.  Following drills players played pickup ball.  This was a high value camp for the 17 players who attended.  This article reports on the first group. Photo by Robert Kelly.[/caption]<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="127287" first="Summya" last="Adigun"], 5’6", SF, Hugoton, Western Kansas Elite, 2023</strong> -- Showed wicked quick feet with/ladder 2-ball drills.  Needs to use her left more when finishing left on jumpers to avoid the shot block.  Posts up very well but needs more air under her turnaround jumper from the block. Photo by Robert Kelly.[/caption] <strong>Hailey Contreras, 5’4", PG, Liberal, GameBall Basketball, 2024</strong> -- Quick and fast as well as a good defender.  Needs to sell her head and shoulder fakes better.  Needs to get the ball off the glass higher on contested lay-ins.  Perimeter shot is developing, able to hit 12’ jumper from corner and free throw line. Good head and shoulder fake mid-range J. Terrific right to left slash and finish with left hand scoop.  Tough off the dribble and can finish athletically.
