Zahra Bichara: The 5’7 guard from Mt. Island Charter has been a 3 sport All-State selection. She is a very well decorated track and field athlete. On the basketball court she is not too shabby either. She lets her aggressive defense turn into easy offense, she is long and anticipates so she creates easy steals for herself to take it for 2. There was only 1 game this season where she did not score in double-digits, 5 games where she put up 25+. She is an active rebounder, posting 3 double-double’s this last season, and averaging a little over 7 per game. She shoots well over 30% from deep, that is not her strongest attribute but she is more than capable of knocking them down consistently. She is a tremendous athlete who will have a strong senior showcase. She plays AAU for the NC Gems organization.
Savanna Brooks: The 5’8 guard from Union Academy is already a 1K point scorer. Averaging almost 20 points per game this last season, she has the green light from 3, but definitely needs to become more consistent from there. She has great size and uses it well. She crashes the boards hard, she had 9 double-doubles this last season as a guard! She is tough, she drives it and does not mind the contact, the contact on the boards, and she will take a charge on defense. She plays hard and smart on defense.
Emerie Tillmon Emerie Tillmon 5'5" | guard Langtree Charter Academy | 2021 NC : The 5’9 small forward from Langtree Charter Academy is a high motor player. She is on GO from the tip. She drives it hard to the paint and finishes, she posts up smaller defenders and scores over them, she has a nice mid-range game, she can knock down the 3, but not consistently enough right now. On defense she can keep guards in front of her, and she can hold her own in the post. She does what her coaches ask of her each and every game. She is a tough hard nosed player who should have a home after her senior season. She plays AAU for the Charlotte Dream Elite organization.
Lauren Whitley: The 5’11 center from Community School of Davidson earned a “Player of the Week” by the Charlotte Observer in one of the final weeks of this last season. She is a steady and consistent player. She has good size, finishes around the rim well, and has a decent mid-range game. She finished out her junior season on a streak of 14+ points in each game, 2 20+ pieces. She recorded 2 double-doubles on the season, this is where she needs to improve the most on is being a bit tougher on the boards. Overall though, she is a player to keep an eye on going into her senior season.
Karynton Clark: The 5’2 point guard from Union Academy is an All-District selection, and an All-Union County selection. She is a tough and high motor player. Her size does not deter her from doing what she needs to do. She controls the tempo of the game, averaging right around 4 assists per game. She is capable of shooting the 3 ball, but she is better when she is attacking the rim. She is quick with the ball in her hands so she gets into the paint and finishes well. If she does not have the ball in her hands, she moves extremely well to get it, and scores easy points. And for her size and position, she is a tremendous rebounder grabbing right around 5 per game, she dubbed 2 double-doubles this last season. She plays AAU for the Team Loaded NC organization.
