Multiple teams were able to crack the double digit win total including one team that rode their momentum all the way to a regional and state championship. With all of that being said, who are some of the top returning forwards in this area? Here is part two of the top returning forwards to lookout for in the Roanoke Valley this year.
Ashlynn Liles (Halifax Academy forward, 2021)
Ashlynn Liles had a solid season for Halifax Academy putting up seven points, seven rebounds, three assists, three steals, and two blocks per contest as a junior. She does a little bit of everything and contributes on both ends of the floor which is part of why her team was able to finish with a 17-9 overall record. With her returning to the lineup, the Vikings should be in the hunt for a conference championship once again in 2021.
Riley Wade (Roanoke Rapids forward, 2022)
Riley Wade is poised for a big junior year after nearly averaging a double double for Roanoke Rapids last year. As a sophomore, she averaged eight points, 11 rebounds, one steal, and three blocks per contest helping the Yellow Jackets go 15-10. Expect her to be an excellent post presence and defender for her team this season as they look to return to the state playoffs.
Kylie Wade (Roanoke Rapids forward, 2022)
Kylie Wade is another post player that could have a significant increase in production during her junior season. She put six points, 10 rebounds, one steal, and two blocks per contest for the Yellow Jackets and made a lot of plays down the stretch for her team. With both of the Wade sisters returning, Roanoke Rapids should be a tough out in conference play.
Allie Liverman (Northeast Academy forward, 2021)
Allie Liverman put up close to double double averages last year at Northeast Academy. As a junior, she posted 10 points, nine rebounds, and four steals per game while leading the Eagles to a 14-5 overall record and undefeated conference slate. Expect the rising senior forward to have another solid campaign as she looks to help Northeast Academy win another conference title.
