Emma Hutter-DeMarco (Woods Charter guard, 2021)
Hutter-DeMarco is one of the top returning scorers in Chatham County and did really good things for Woods Charter this past season. She’s aggressive while attacking the basketband is also an excellent three point shooter. Thanks to her performance during the 2019-20 season, the Wolves were able to win 11 games and reach the state playoffs. Hutter-DeMarco and Woods Charter should be back in the postseason again as they return their top
Gianna McManaman (Northwood guard, 2023)
McManaman led the Northwood Chargers in assists this past season and is poised to increase her role next season. The rising sophomore guard averaged six points and one steal per game last year and is an excellent defensive player for a team that went 22-6 last year. The Chargers are slated to have five of their top six scorers return to their squad including McManaman which should lead to another really good season.
Rebecca McGaughnea (Chatham Charter forward 2021)
McGaughnea was an excellent rebounder and defender for Chatham Charter this past season. As a junior, she averaged eight points and eight rebounds per game and played with a lot of energy on both ends of the floor. The rising senior forward had a lot of big games down the stretch going into the postseason and the Knights program certainly hopes that continues into the 2020-21 season. Expect her and Chatham Charter to build on a very successful 2019-20 campaign that saw them reach the third round of the 1-A playoffs.
