Mary Grace Murchison (Chatham Central guard, 2021)
Murchison is one of many key players coming back for the Bears and she’s a very versatile guard that can do a lot of things well. From scoring in transition and attacking the basket to knocking down jump shots, she’s one of the reasons why Chatham Central had a great 2019-20 campaign. They should be a contender in the 1-A division next season thanks to the return of their rising senior guard.
Ellia Wright (Jordan-Matthews guard, 2022)
Wright had a really good sophomore season for Jordan-Matthews and is one of the top returning players in the county. She defends really well at her size, attacks the basket well, and produced a lot in transition for the Jets. After averaging 12 points per game this past season, Wright will likely see an increased role and that should help Jordan-Matthews improve on their 8-16 overall record from a season ago.
Mckenna Snively (Northwood guard, 2022)
Snively is another one of the many talented guards coming back for the Northwood Chargers after averaging nine points per contest. She led the team in made three pointers with 38 and she shot 40% from long range this past season as a sophomore. Her stellar play helped Northwood finish with a 22-6 record and they should be a really good team once again next season.
Tamaya Walden (Chatham Charter guard, 2023)
Walden is another 2023 prospect that made an instant impact on her team this past season at Chatham Charter. The rising sophomore guard averaged 13 points, five rebounds, four assists, and five steals per game in her debut season for the Knights. Expect Walden and Chatham Charter to make noise once again this year after going 27-4 during the 2019-20 season.
