In Harnett County, multiple programs reached double digit victories and state playoff appearances. Each program returns key contributors that are sure to make an big impact this upcoming year. Here is part two of the top returning players to lookout for in Harnett County during the 2020-21 season.
Brittany Mills (Harnett Central guard, 2021)
Mills had really good numbers in the games she played this past season for the Harnett Central Trojans. In those contests, she put up 15 points, four assists, and three steals per game. The rising junior guard be a huge part of a great team returning to school this upcoming year. Harnett Central won 18 games in the 2019-20 season and is poised to be back around that number in 2020-21 which could mean a shot at the conference title.
Abby Hood (Triton guard/forward, 2023)
Hood is one of the many 2023 prospects in NC that had an instant impact in their first high school basketball season. She’s one of Triton’s top returning players and her presence was immediately felt for the Hawks. The rising sophomore averaged eight points, nine rebounds, two steals and a block per contest in her first high school season. An increased role is likely and that should help Triton improve on their 12-11 record from this past season.
Madison Cypher (Overhills forward, 2023)
Another 2023 prospect that played well this past season was Madison Cypher at Overhills. As a freshman, she put up eight points and nine rebounds per game and had an impact on both ends of the floor. She’s another one of the many key returners at the Jaguars disposal for next year. Expect Cypher and Overhills to improve during the 2020-21 season to the point where they’ll have a shot at the postseason.
